A Restoration of Faith - 3/5. Having the explanation behind this gives me a lot of hope, as an aspiring author. If this is how Harry and the entire series began, then Butcher has come a long way, and it has been an adventure to be along for the ride. We all have to start somewhere. Intro of Murphy too.

Vignette - 3/5. Short, sweet, and to the point. A great glimpse of Harry and Bob together.

Not the best Dresden, where I felt all the plots were thin and already told through the introduction to each story, could have been done better. All the stories could have been summarized up in one sentence, I would gotten the plot of the story fine. Butcher should not try to write anymore short stories anymote, not worth my time, his time or anyone else's time as a matter of fact. ...more

I liked the short stories in this book. They defiantly got better the more you progressed through. My favourite had to be 'Its my birthday too'. This story centers on Harry trying to give his brother a birthday present, and in all normal Harry style, it goes quickly FUBAR.
I found the first story lack the easy style of the books so far in the series but then it was the first attempt so fair enough.
I would say that the stories don't actually enhance the series for me but that doesn't make them any

A good collection of short stories that take place in the Dresden Files universe. I really enjoyed the stories in which Dresden wasn't the protagonist the most. I found the layout of the stories and their intros to be acceptable as well. The reason why Side Jobs only gets a 3* is the quality of most of the works were just okay, and nothing impressive. ...more
