Very confusing start, took a long time to connect the dots because the story's all over the place but by the second half of the book he's got mostly everyone pointed the same direction. Amazing world creation and magical constructs, unique concepts of social interaction and eventually there's a quality storyline in there somewhere.

Was pretty slow for the first 300 pages. But man, once the back story was set up and stuff started happening, good stuff! I do appreciate this level of world building, and it helps to have a really good foundation for the rest of the story. Can't wait for the next one, I want to see what happens to everyone..
