I started this book right after The Left Hand of Darkness, a really good novel set in a planet with a never-ending winter. Roshar, with its frequent storms, reminded me a little of it and I honestly thought I wouldn't appreciate it as much as I should because it would get dwarfed by the brilliance of Left Hand.... Was pretty slow for the first 300 pages. But man, once the back story was set up and stuff started happening, good stuff! I do appreciate this level of world building, and it helps to have a really good foundation for the rest of the story. Can't wait for the next one, I want to see what happens to everyone..
