I was really excited to read this novel as i heard much about it. Written in a very simple language, this novel touches one's heart with very beautiful contemplation done in it. It explains four hurdles in our life in a very good way explaining the life of a shepherd named Santiago. I really the quotes of this novel. My Favorite one is:

To sum up .. whatever you are searching for so deliberately lies within you all along .. but to discover it, you have to make a journey to the extreme .. And this book explains it all in a bit spiritual way ..

This book. I can't even describe how wonderful it was. There were so many times where I felt Paulo stopped telling the story so that he could look at me and say, "See this line? I wrote it for you." I couldn't just devour this book. I had to read it in bite sized chunks, putting it down every so often so I could digest what I had just read. This book. It was truly, truly beautiful. ...more
