What Members Thought
I had wanted to read the books for so long but somehow it was always left for later. I am talking about LOTR, I bought a used copy of 'The Hobbit' and it also stayed there without being read and that was true till now I started it and then finished it in one day. I liked the illustrations too but they weren't too clear in my copy as it was close to 30 years old now merely a few years less than me.

I like to think of this book as 'The Odyssey'...but for little people with furry feet.
A pleasure to read—and in a way, the most idyllic of bedtime stories! As timeless as it is peerless, Tolkien's iconic style carries you along through a fantastic landscape with all of the subtly and quiet amusement one would expect of an expert bard.
While the journeying portion of the book felt a bit long in places, Tolkien rewards patience. The characters have palpable depth, and the world-building is dizzyi ...more

This book follows Bilbo Baggins as he is pulled into an adventure of a lifetime! I liked how this gave me another search for the treasure vibes which meant journeying across mountains and difficult path and encountering dragons and eagles and goblins... it was all sooo brilliant. I loved vandals as always and it’s another epic book from Tolkien’s middle earth. I loved this book it was very different from the "Lord of the Rings" because it is one of Tolkien's earlier works and one of his (what he calls) "fairy stories" almost. This book is interesting because it is written more for the entertainment of childen. For example this is a great book to read to kids (when they are old enough to understand it) as part of a fun book to read at story time although i am sure kids would have trouble if they tried to read it themselves.
