What Members Thought
It was difficult to understand from the beginning to the mid chapters of the books. The chapters are short and scenes changes speedily. The story grows and the pictures are getting clearer as the story progresses. Werner's short life is saddening with the fact that he never gets to see his sister again after he joins the war.

Set against the backdrop of Hitler's European WWII theater this book is about the life story of a young blind girl and hr closely knit family. Very vivid and descriptive this book draws you in with the story and is a page turner especially if you prefer a strong historical context with your reading.
