It makes me roll my eyes to hear people criticizing this work. Standout thriller of its day; took people utterly by surprise; well-written and ingenious. Audacious, even. Neo-Nazism is a stalwart of the thriller genre and this was perhaps the apogee of that field. Such works are toothsome reads; and serve well to remind us of the utter weirdness of the mid Twentieth Century. Things stranger than this actually happened.
