970 The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. I was decent. Won't be on the top of any of my lists.

We all started somewhere. I'm jealous of some of the books you still get to read for the first time.

970 Persuasion by Jane Austen. It was good. Just good. If you needed to drop an Austen off the list I wouldn't be mad at it.

I actually have not yet read Watership Down. I do keep hearing how good it is. And I know it makes many lists. Perhaps someday....

970 Over the long weekend, I finished quite a few books.

The Idiot was a great book. Probably my favorite Fyodor Dostoevsky so far.

Pippi Longstocking was nice and short. A little silly too.

The Feast of the Goat was great read about a time in history I knew nothing about.

970 It's a little long. But I want to try to finish The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky before I need to start my next book club book.
970 I went with Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West.

Colorful and violent....

970 I finished Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West by Cormac McCarthy

Thank you, Mr. McCarthy, for reminding me that man is the most brutal of beasts.

970 Is Powell's the authority of what new books are coming out? I understand they are the largest brick and mortar bookstore (been there!) ... but...

I'm only asking because the blurb that they have for the book is a very universal blurb used by countless online booksellers. Did everybody get it from Powell's? or did Powell's get it from some other authority?
