I'll be starting this soon and I'm so excited!

I read this not too long ago and I didn’t love it, even though I probably would have if I read it like a year or two ago. It just felt like any generic YA fantasy and I didn’t get anything that was too special from it unfortunately.

You've got a great list of faves there! I personally liked Pride and Prejudice, but didn't love it, but it would be a suitable place to start for sure. From my limited experience in classics, I personally really enjoyed Jane Eyre and Little Women. Hope you get more time to read soon and discover some new favourites!

Awesome reading everyone and thank you Sylvs for running everything!

But yeah, I totally agree with you that I quite liked the mystery aspect, but I didn't really connect or get Avery or that well either. Also agree with you that it was fun, and now that it has been a few weeks since I read it, I can say it hasn't been memorable for me - I've hardly thought about it since I finished it.

Ok, well, I certainly enjoyed the ending... it was good. Look, I haven’t read many mysteries at all, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it seemed smart and interesting and I thought it was pretty cool. I liked the characters and their interactions between one another. Also, there were a lot of shocking plot twists that were definitely pretty well executed. Look, I’m going to have to sleep on this one, as I’m feeling about a 3.5, so whether to round up or down, I haven’t decided.

Ok, well, I would I say I'm liking it well enough, although it's not a favourite or anything yet. I would have liked for there to maybe have been one or two big reveals by now just to keep me invested, as the mystery hasn't progressed a lot in this middle chunk I feel, even if things have moved forward in terms of plot and the relationship between the characters. I do feel a love triangle forming between Avery and two of the Hawthorne brothers and ehh, we'll see how it goes. I've having fun, but it has yet to blow me away.

I’ve gotten through the first 30 chapters and so far it’s interesting enough. I haven’t read many mysteries but I think I like where it is going at the moment. Grayson can rightfully piss off, but I like Jameson enough and Avery seems to be alright. It’s reasonably fast paced and although I feel this sort of situation where a billionaire gives all their money to a random girl wouldn’t happen in reality, it is an interesting scenario to explore here. Hope the rest of the book remains okay.
