Sounds like a plan! I'm currently reading three other books besides Legendary, so plenty to read, ha ha!
Finally starting this book back up (I'm at the 50% mark) but will still go slowly through it since I want to finish the Backman Beartown trilogy. The first book was fantastic, but I haven't heard as many good things about the second or even third book (I have the ARC of this one), but I do want to give the rest of the series a chance. Anxious People is a standalone and probably my favorite book of his. I made it up to chapter 25 of Legendary and will start the next Backman book. :) I'm also in the middle of a library book and an ARC (Well, That Was Unexpected), so plenty to read, lol! On the plus side, I'm making my way through my Conquer your TBR challenge!

I didn't remember all the details, but yes, I was expecting the plot twists the second time around. I definitely liked Scarlett and Julian and felt like their feelings for each other evolved in a pretty realistic way. You don't get a whole lot of Legend in this first book, so yeah, he's very stereotypical as a villain, and all you "learn" is that he was burned in a failed love affair and it made him bitter. At least that was my impression of the first book. Tella was also very superficial in this first book as well as annoying. I'm learning more about her in the second book (I have read close to half of it) because it's basically narrated from her POV the way Scarlett was the POV in the first book. It's giving me some insight to her motivations and choices, but I'm still not sure if I'm going to like her, lol. I'm planning on finishing the fourth book in The Tales of Verania first and then I will jump back into Legend.
By the way, Sylvs, have you read The Tales of Verania? If you're a fan of his Extraordinaries series, Tales of Verania is fantastic, especially the audiobook. Be warned that it's meant for an adult audience, although Sam and his best friends are rather juvenile in their humor, and sex is talked about a lot (and done more as the series continues). But I totally binged the series in book form (from my library) and recently bought all of the books on audible, lol. Michael Lesley is the narrator and he's really fantastic. I just finished the third book and will start the fourth book soon. The first four books conclude the series, but there's a fifth book that is more of a spin-off (which I have also gotten from audible and will listen to as soon as I get there, lol).

The entire book Anxious People is driven by dialog and he is so good at writing great dialog. When I think of a writer who is able to describe the human condition so well, he is one of the first to come to mind.
Hee hee, if you're a fan of Backman, it is arguably one of his best. So far I haven't found any lemons yet, but I'm getting ready to read the Beartown trilogy and I've been told that the second two books are not nearly as good as the first. But I have the ARC for the third book, so I'll be reading the entire trilogy this month!
