Every year, it has changed from group to group, so I just wanted to make sure I was understanding correctly. (。◕‿◕。)

Not sure if there is enough blue in it. This is a re-read for me from years ago, I know the place the store takes place in starts with F, and I think one of the characters has a name that starts with F (It's been a while so I can't quite remember)
Also, I'm not always great at planning the books before I read them, I tend to be more of a mood reader.

Felicity wrote: "Hi Jen,
Welcome to the team. I just loved The Invisible Life of Addie Larue but have never read anything else by V. E. Schwab. I am not a big fantasy reader but the book just hooked me and I thoug..."

I started writing a post yesterday, and but then for some reason it wouldn't post so I'm trying again today.
So my name is Jen, I am from Edmonton, Alberta Canada. This is I think my 6th year doing this challenge, and I always enjoy it.
Let's see I work full time as a Quality Assurance Analyst, other than reading in my spare time I train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, so it all keeps me fairly busy.
I was trying to think of some of my favourite books that I read from last year and I think The Lunar Chronicles (series) ended up being a favourite, as well as Gallant by V.E. Schwab, was a great read but I generally love most of her books. There were several others but that's all I can think of for now.
Oh and here is a link to my shelf uno-2023

Book: Scarlet
Author: Marissa Meyer
Rating 4/5 Stars
Normally, I'm not the biggest fans of fairytale re-telling type of books, but this book does a good job of having aspects of the fairy tales without it over taking the story. A really good read.

Book: House of Scepters
Author: Anne Zoelle
Rating: 4/5 Stars
A quick read, lot's of action. Not really any complaints.

Book: Daughter of the Burning City
Author: Amanda Foody
Rating: 2/5 Stars
I wanted to like this book I really did, but honestly I only felt frustrated by it. The MC was so easily manipulated and that alone annoyed me a lot, she really allowed people to tell her what to think and made that her opinion based on those things.
The world didn't really feel fleshed out, and neither did the characters, the MC has powers but those also felt inconsistent.
The plot twists while some being predictable also felt like they were being spoon fed to you, kind of like "oh the story is almost finished here's who did it"
