If you do read The Ghost Bride, it will count for reverse. 😊 I've read it. It was also very special. It's an unusual book, but fascinating.

I have wanted to read this, but I know it will be gut-wrenching, so I keep putting it off. It would be a tough book to read if you're feeling distracted.

Such difficult decisions hahaha.

How do you guys decide what to read next?"

I always make reading lists and then don't follow them. 😂 I work in a public library and sometimes I'll see a book and just feel like I want to read it, even if it was never on my list and 200 other books ARE. For audiobooks, I'm pickier. I go with narrators I like. The narrator is as important to me as the story.

Wow!
During the day?

It is insanely cold here this week. Right now it's -7° Fahrenheit, so...maybe -21°c? It's supposed to just keep getting colder and then start to improve Tuesday. I actually think school might be cancelled on Monday. Lots of cars aren't starting, so I guess that's one way to keep everyone at home.

I'll definitely get some reading in!

I think if I understood it correctly, you can start now, but can't finish until after the 14th.

88432 Jhmingos--
Thank you for volunteering to read A Prayer for Owen Meany! after you get started, would you be willing to post a few things about the book that we could "connect" to? Like...main plot points, setting, unusual traits we might be able to tie in to? I actually have 3 days off and it's supposed to be -17 😳 so I will be reading! But what to start with....

Everyone's name started with A, D, or J. And it took place along the Amazon River. By the end, I was muttering to myself...of course the new guy's name is James. Of course it is!" 😂

88432 I'll "officially" share when I've finished something. I have a bad habit of getting ten library holds on the same day, reading a chapter of several to see what grabs me or what I'm in the mood for. I have several waiting for me now. I will start with my color card though...it will be a fun, quick read and I've already got it.

I'm excited to get started! It's surprisingly motivating. 😊

We definitely have that covered. We had record snowfall on Tuesday (13 inches) and more snow expected Saturday and Sunday. Should be nice and wintery for a while!

88432 All my Christmasy books that I had on hold are coming in now. So...Christmas in February?

I listened to and read (switched back and forth) Gone With the Wind last year. If you are streaming it, it's an easy one to speed up to 1.25 or 1.4 to listen to. Southern accents speed up fairly well. I was listening to it last summer during the George Floyd protests in the U.S. It was chilling to have systemic racism as a constant topic in the news with GWTW playing in the background. 😳
