And the color names! Who comes up with these???

Nobody's using tineye to rule on the covers- we're just using it as a guideline. That's why the books are being posted here for a ruling in the first place. And at least in my case, I'm also using it because seeing all the colors extracted into one rectangular strip is oddly soothing and idek why~
Goosebumps has a whole bunch of summer camp books but they are horror so I assume that's not what you had in mind? Everything else that comes to mind is more YA than MG, sorry. :/

Although ironically I think tineye has actually become more reliable. Last year I read
The Song of Achilles and it read the cover as more than 60% green on the basis of the yellow of the helmet being identified as a shade of green. But I checked it again and it says it's a shade of brown.

I checked all of them in tineye before posting them too actually- I basically used the same metric Kelly did.

I actually suspect that none of them are yellow enough, which is why I asked the question in the first place.
Tineye had very limited definitions of what counted as yellow last year, and I suspect that's part of the reason we aren't using it this year. I just figured it would be more logical to figure out the parameters of "yellow enough" as early as possible.

And also
Reaper Man. Again, no immediate ruling needed. I'm just looking through my lists for maybe-yellows
Edit: Wait no that isn't the edition I've got //mutters hang on
Reaper Man - check this one instead please. I got confused because the look very similar in the thumbnail

:) thanks, both of you. But honestly there's no rush. I'm just floating possible options.

I'm imposing a moratorium on myself for the rest of the month. Maybe I can just read comics or something...
The Hound of Justice- yellow cover?
Traitor's Blade same question

I want to start books but I keep putting it off because it's not February yet. And then I started a book and now feel guilty because it's not going to count for the challenge
//sad

Oops hang on I'm not sure if the Gurkha and the lord of Tuesday works for 8 I haven't read it yet

39 clues is really good for colored covers. I read maze of bones last year just for the blue.
Another brightly colored children's series starts with
Eglantine so that is there as backup? Idk

I totally get it. I see a book and my hand go all grabby and I screech MINE :D

I could also do
The Capture for 7 yellow. It's 27,600 wordsish on arbookfinder so it qualifies and it's a quick read.

It was brown as per tineye so I needed to get a consensus. :D It looks red to me too.
It should work for let's see- 2, 8, 6, 4, 5 at least.

The Iron Will of Genie Lo

Oh also I'm on an Animorphs re read campaign and a lot of those have colored covers. Since it's a re read I have no problems with reading it in any order. Fewer options on the cards, though because small and repeated cast.

I am planning to read
would that count for Red?

From what I remember yellow covers are harder to come by than the others. It may be better to use other colors for Wild Draw 4s?
The One and Only Ivan is on my tbr. I can read it for a reverse if required.

Let's see; I can read
- Kelly's read it too so it can work for reverse.
My reading tends to be largely unplanned so I can't really know what I've got planned. Just let me know if any cards need to be filled and I can try to find a book that fits, though?
The Screaming Staircase has plenty of horror, by the way- I edited it out for that reason. And I don't think
The Epic Crush of Genie Lo has romance, but a lot of people have filed it under romance or YA so I took that out too.
So please keep that in mind? I don't want to present a false picture of the books.
