March Mini Challenge

Are you feeling comfy?
Are you enjoying the atmosphere in the hidden bar the mods have invited you to?
Are your glasses empty perhaps?
Well then, what are you waiting for? Let's order another round or two of cocktails! You will not be disappointed by them, we promise..


Part One
This is your cocktail menu. To be able to drink these, you will need to perform two tasks per cocktail.
~One is a cover colour task, the other is open to interpretation using the name of the cocktail for inspiration. I have amended the spreadsheet to show the mini challenge.


Cover colours need to be >50%. The examples we have give are just that, examples and you do not need to read something from the examples given. Feel free to get creative! The book needs to make sense for each cocktail but for the rest, you are given free hand to make your books fit.

◈ Every book read is worth 10 points.
◈ Each book can be used for one task only.
◈ If your team reads for all 30 tasks, you get 30 points as bonus.


Part Two

After several cocktails, a lot of us tend to get a little creative - some more than others.

Here is your chance to shine (again), now that you've drunken a multitude of cocktails: create your own cocktails!

You can use anywhere between two and six elements from your books to create a name for your cocktail along the lines of what the mods have done for the team names.

These are the elements you can choose to use from your books - any combination of these works:
- book title
- series title
- author name
- item on cover
- cover colour (no matter how much of it is found on the cover as long as one can actually detect it with the naked eye)
- name from the story (any character or named creature, you could even use the cat's name if you like)
- setting of the story (can be the entire setting, can be the setting of a single scene, whatever works for your creation)

The names of your cocktails do not have to be villain/troublemaker inspired. You could create a Miss Piggy's Pink Umbrella if you wanted. Or a Little Miss Sunshine's Bellini.

◈ Every book read is worth 10 points.
◈ Each book can only be used once for the mini challenge.
◈ No bonus points for completing this part as it is supposed to be fun. No pressure.

The usual:

◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1).
◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on March 15, 9am UTC https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown... and before April 1 at 9am UTC (when the April UNO month begins).

◈ Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books from what you are claiming for your UNO hands.
◈ The usual book length rules apply.

Ive had a slower start than February, but finished one yesterday and on track for another 2 today.

Viscount is a title so we can’t use it unfortunately

FEBRUARY IS COMPLETE!!!!

Were currently sat 7th out of 32 but weve recieved every point available to us!! The cards are down to chance in the amount of points total we could possibly get.

so were one coloured card away from completing the main game, which I know Rosina is working on.

That book also completes one of the 3 remaining mini cards. another I will be finished with shortly (40 pages left) and then Alejandras completes the last.

Thanks Melanie, I will be finished with it today, I only have 150 pages left. Woke up early this morning so got a chunk done before I saw your message.
If youre definitely finishing in feb then lets add it in for the Main SS so it counts towards your number :)

You can start the books whenever you want but remember not to finish them until after March starts. I’ll do a countdown timer Tuesday

I have moved over the March cards on to the tracking SS.
I can’t sort all the coloured cards into the list until
I’m back but if you scroll you can see what we need.
We have 9 draw twos so although they don’t give us points, we should be able to complete the hands a bit quicker

I have taken the last 9, which means weve taken all the spots on the main, but theres 2 spots left on the mini.

My book works for direction as well as black writing only, so can move around if you find one that fits one but not the other.

We also can use 3 of pixies books if we need.

I will be MIA for the weekend, were going to cornwall for 4 days.
Will be back tuesday morning, but Hailey will be around if you need anything.

Also, a reminder that if you have started something this month and dont get to finish it, we can use it in march.
On that note, next week, if you look like youre going to complete a book thats not being used for any of the slots, if you can hold out finishing it until the 1st we can get a head start on march's reads.
