Yes since they do need to be on both! If you want to just put your name on the spots on mini tab, we can fill in with book when you do your completion and we put it on the planning

Each book can only be used for one task but you can read the same book as a teammate and the books can be used in main and mini.

Okay awesome! All the ones I found had sneaky white or other color text on them as well.

Based on discussions in the captains group it looks like black text only is going to be way harder than it sounds, so if anyone has one of those let us know!

This one will be a little different, as we will directly claim the spots we want. Please still fill out the section for other tasks it fits, if any, in case we need to move it.

Since Jackie, Janine, and I are holding off on some of our claims until everyone gets a chance, please let us know when you've made your selections. Otherwise we will just make any more than three after that 48 hours I referenced previously :)

Mini has been announced!!

I'm currently working on the Planning spreadsheet and will have it updated today. For now, here is the info from the Mods to help us start thinking about it.

Jackie, Janine and I are the big readers of the team so we're only going to claim 3 spots each for the first 48 hours (from the time I post the sheet) to give everyone else a chance to claim spots! After that point it's a free for all.

--Here are the tasks--

Read up to 5 books from each of the following categories:

- Have a direction in the title (e.g. up, down, east, west etc.)
- Have an author's first name or surname starting with F, I, N or D
- Have a black (>50%) cover
- Have black writing on the cover (and no other text with a different colour)

Read up to 5 books for each of the following categories. Words related to them must be found either in text or title:
- Spirits (e.g., vodka, rum, gin, whiskey, tequila)
- Mixers (e.g., soda water, tonic water, fruit juices)
- Fruit (e.g., lemon, lime, cherries)
- Herbs and Spices (e.g., mint leaves, basil, cinnamon sticks)

And then here is the additional information:
◈ Every book read is worth 10 points.
◈ Each book can be used for one task only.
◈ If your team reads for all 40 tasks, you get 30 points as bonus.
◈ You do not have to have a unique item for each task (so you can use two different books with lemon in the text for "fruit")
◈ The examples given for words are just examples. Other words that fit the category (e.g. orange for fruit) are fine

◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1)
◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on Feb 14, 9am UTC (countdown: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...) and before March 1 at 9am UTC (when the March UNO month begins).

◈ Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books from what you are claiming for your UNO hands
◈ The usual book length rules apply

We're almost halfway through the month! Where does the time go? How's everyone's reading going? We have some big readers in this group so if you need some help let us know!

Just as a reminder, UNO does require weekly check-ins. You can just stop by and say "I'm still reading!" and you're covered. Feel free to drop what you've enjoyed reading so far :)

The mini is coming shortly! I'll give more info when it's released, but I think we're in a good spot for it.

Currently we have 53 cards completed! That puts us at a little over halfway done! Here's the breakdown (but a lot can be moved around so don't stress about filling specific cards. As a reminder, this breakdown can be found on our planning spreadsheet under "February Hands"
