24 hours (+ a little more) left until the challenge starts. I hope you're all ready :D

I hope everyone is doing fine :) We have 2 days and about 21hours left until the challenge starts :D Please read through the information in
this comment if you are still unsure about the rules. But most important is to make sure you start your book after the challenge starts, that it is long enough and that it fits at least 1 card so we can use it ;)

I won't be online for the next few days as I have some exams coming up. Can't wait for the challenge to start and to finally read something that is not a research paper again

To avoid further confusion regarding coloured cards. The only one that is left and not yet reserved is a Wild Draw 4. We can still duplicate 3, 4 or 8 yellow or a 5 green. So have a lookout for that :) I still need to check if there is anything I want to read that fits

not sure if this is more black or dark green?
- definitely red enough. If you have that specific cover go for it!
- I think this can work for green, it just has different shades. What do the others think?

Actually goes for every coloured card: if you have a physical copy that looks more blue/yellow/red/green than the cover on goodreads that's totally fine and we can use that. Just let us know that it's actually that colour in real life :)

Looks more orange to me on screen. But as Christina said, if the physical copy looks more yellow in person, totally fine. If it's a digital copy I wouldn't let it count for yellow in my opinion

The first one is The Hookup (Moonlight and Motor Oil #1) and has a blue cover and the second one is The Slow Burn (Moonlig..."If you want you can hold off with reading them until March to see if they might fit for a blue spot then :) but totally up to you, we can use them for normal cards as well!
Val wrote: "Do any of you use Apple products and have issues with posting on the spreadsheet? Maybe I need to be on a computer rather than my iPad?"Computer always works best for me with spreadsheets. If you have lots of problems you can always just post your completion posts here with all the cards the book workd for :)

And Anxious People
Where could they fit in?"Also, if you are unsure about the cards and what they work for - I linked the "All About Uno" in the top comments with important Information. If you follow the link it tells you about all the cards in detail as well.
Val wrote: "Lexi wrote: "Thank you Gem for your help, covers need to be over 50% the color, so Anxious People will not work for yellow (the people take up about 2/3 of the cover) but would work..."I always find it best to put a book in my uno shelf once I start reading it. That way I won't forget.
Gem ~Zero Shelf Control~ wrote: "That’s a point. Do you want completion posts, or to just mark the finish date in the tracker?"You don't need to make completion posts, just put the date in the tracker :) however, if you liked a book it never hurts to share with us :D

Regarding the tracking sheet, we will explain it in detail once everyone had a achance to check in, latest by the end of next week :)

So what I usually did in previous years: people do not need to reserve certain cards. Just read whatever your heart desire and then give us all the information for how it works in our tracking sheet.
As for coloured cards, if you have one lying around that fits, "reserve" them in the tracking sheet . It's right at the top :) If we can plan our coloured cards that'd be amazing as they are the trickier ones.

Welcome everyone to this year's UNO challenge :D I'm already really excited as I've been in a really big reading slump, and Uno usually helps me getting out of it.
Important information regarding the challenge will be posted in the reserved spots above, so you can always come back to that. But of course Christina, Lexi and I are always here for any questions you have :)
For a start I'd love if everyone can introduce themselves and check in with us. Also please include the link to your uno shelf in your comment.
My name is Daniela, I'll be 26 in May (too soon in my opinion) and I'm from Austria. Currently studying to become an english and german teacher. I mostly read english books of any genre, whatever I think is interesting. But this year my goal is to pick up more books from german/austrian authors as I really need to up my reading game for my german study haha
