And, Yay! Two nine books! Just what we need!

Yeah, there are a few out now with similar vibe, including ones promoting women in STEM careers. I went for that one because of the historically kick-ass women and women in all sorts of careers - creative as well as STEM.

That is terrible! and a bit funny :D
I wonder where he got that idea from tho - it's funny how much kids hear things other adults don't think they do.
I hope the book works it would be a shame if he continued to grow up thinking those things :(..."
I've no idea where it came from! His mother works, his aunties work (and he sees us a lot!)
I can only blame his current obsession with knights & fighting.
Happily, though, they live near-ish to Colchester, home of the brilliantly fierce fighter-queen Boudicca, so he'll learn about her & love her.
But there is a sad lack of knight books with the princess/girl as the knight. I try my best, and he's a big fan of Matilda & the BFG (Roald Dahl - how great an author is he?!)

The other day I was playing with him, who a year ago would play at being the queen or princess or what have you. We were playing with Lego people, and mine was the queen. I tried to have her fight with his knight, or do some police stuff (ride a police bike - you know, stuff).
"No! You can't do that Auntie Catherine!"
He announced that queens and princesses do NOT fight or have jobs. Their jobs are to stay in the castle and have babies.
Honestly!
He then added that they could come out sometimes if they were needed to cut a ribbon to open a building, but then they must go back to the castle to have their babies.
You should've seen my horror & outrage!
So I'm buying him & his sister (who is too much into princesses for my liking) Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls

I plan on reading quite a bit over the weekend so hopefully I can complete 2 or 3 books by ..."
have we heard from Sarah? she Ok? life taken over?

It'll be a fair amount of running around playing knights & wicked witches (or similar) with my nephew (4) and being bossed about by my niece (2) - wordlessly, mind you. She's awesomely good at getting her own way with very little talking. Her brother at that age you couldn't shut up!

I'm aiming to get at least 2 Ns done this long weekend, though I do have a day with the niblings & family which'll put paid to full on read-fest weekend.
Do any of you guys have particular Easter weekend plans? or just food & family?
