A Bookworm Reading (Plethora) wrote: "So we are updating as we go and not waiting for the first group of reads before posting to the spreadsheet?"We can wait, Plethora, if you think that would ease the process.
I guess I was too excited to get something on board (and I worry that we may miss a book).
Let me know if it would help you to do it all together.
Updated Challenge Spreadsheet with How to Walk Like a Man (Sassafrass)Points Earned: 20
TOTAL POINTS: 20
Sassafrass wrote: "Sorry, I added all that to the spreadsheet. I didn't know we were to add it here too. I'm on my phone now but will post here later when I can get to a computer."It may be too much to ask, but having a post here and updating the spreadsheet would be great. (You can update the spreadsheet before or while you read, and then post a completion post here after you are done, if that helps)
Either way, the intention is to have our book checked for every possible card combination, so that we have enough leeway to shuffle our books to account for all the cards in our hand.
Thank you for posting the details, Sassafrass. And Yay on getting the first book read! :D
Just a quick reminder to everyone, as and when you finish your book, please make it a point to do two things:1. Add it to your Challenge Shelf
2. Write a quick post here with as many details as possible. Try and mention as many cards your book fits for, so that we can move it based on all the reads throughout the challenge, if need be.
Doing these two things is very important for all of us to be on the same page and for the book to be counted rightfully.
P.S. Add names of characters as far as possible, as at times that information can be hard to find for someone who hasnt read the book.
Denise wrote: "I work full time and go to school full time... I join these challenges so I have a good excuse to take a break and read something I WANT to read."OMG! I am so glad to find another person who is in the same boat as me. I am also working full-time and pursuing another Masters' Degree. So, I completely understand how taxing it really can get.
Just enjoy the challenge, Denise!
We need these breaks from that crazy thing called 'real life' :)
Sickness sucks! Hope you are taking enough rest, Plethora! We are all here, so don't worry about this challenge!
Get well real soon! :D
Sassafrass wrote: "@Apoorv, I liked the way you described "a good slow-burn romance". YUM. What are some of your favorites? What about MM. I read MM but I'm not an exclusive MM reader."
Indeed YUM! I just love it when as a reader, you end up being frustrated and happy at the same time that the two lovers on the page are so in love yet unaware of it for a long time.
The last book that I read that was a brilliant slow-burn was a MM Romance, Leo Loves Aries. My all time favourite though is The Bridges of Madison County. I have not found a beautiful mature love story that tugged at every string of my heart as that book did. It kept on burning slowly in the night of undying romance.
Okay! Now I need to read a slow-burn! Damn it! ;=)
Babitix wrote: "Do you have an gmail?."You should have a edit access request from 'asmoghe17 at gmail dot com', Babitix. That would be me! :)
I sure am excited and can't wait to start! :DJust like you Sassafrass, I do try and read everything although there are a few genres that I haven't read, purely because I haven't had good recommendations for those, for e.g. Vampires, Goth, Regency Romance, Spiritual etc.
I am especially partial towards a good slow-burn romance, or some adorable MM smut, or a killer kickass female murder-solver, or a creepy old ghost! :P
But, yeah, I would love to hear your 5-star books and would definitely want to read them as part of this challenge. So, please everyone, do suggest your favourites!
