They are a duplicate of one of the coloured cards yes, so we have 5 Wild Draw 4s so we need to duplicate 5 of our 8 coloured cards.

We are using JL's blue cover as a Wild Draw 4 so it does fit this month. I think that might have been lost among all the colored covers.

Edited: Captains’ group said yes so going with it. For what it is worth, the hardcover is more yellow in person, as noted.

88432 I cannot do it from my phone. I only use my computer, which is a Mac. I generally suggest using a computer for the spreadsheet.

88432 Charly, feel free to post any color covers than you have questions on.

Jillian, yours works great as a Wild Draw 4 for the 2nd Blue 8. I added you to the planning sheet. I don't quite know what the 2nd one is as a color. It is a greenish brown or a brownish green - The Slow Burn (Moonlight and Motor Oil, #2) by Kristen Ashley . Does anyone else have a vote?

88432 Thank you Gem for your help, covers need to be over 50% the color, so Anxious People will not work for yellow (the people take up about 2/3 of the cover) but would work for F for author as well as character names. The Push works for a Blue 6 as Gem notes.

Val, are you good with using the tracking spreadsheet? It has all the options and you can put the books you read/ are planning to read on there.

88432 Since Gem asked and claimed a colour, I thought I would introduce/refresh memories on the colour cards. We have 8 coloured cards for this round, and these are the ones that are best to claim, so they all get covered by the end of the month. The cover must be over 50% of the colour and the number still must work as well. Our cards are:
2 Red
6 Blue
8 Blue
3 Green
5 Green
3 Yellow
5 Yellow
8 Yellow

So I claimed the Yellow 3 with Master of Poisons by Andrea Hairston - yellow cover and author H (Andrea Hairston)

We also have 5 Wild Draw 4s. These must repeat one of the coloured cards. For instance, I claimed a Wild Draw 4 for the Blue 6. Each card can be used for a Wild Draw 4 only once, so no one else can read a Wild Draw 4 for a blue 6 but the other 7 are still options.

If you have a book you want to read, then please put your name next to the card in the tracking sheet (here)

Feel free to ask any questions on coloured cards in general or specific covers

88432 We have a Mini Challenge and we got one of my all-time favorite children's books. Link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Our assigned book is: Howl's Moving Castle

We have given each team a popular book from the 1980s.

As a team, you need to try and read as many books that you can connect with your 1980s book as possible. The ways the books "connect" is completely open to interpretation.

Creativity is the key to the challenge, not rules. You don't need a unique reason for each book read and connected.

For each book read and connected you will receive 10 points. As a team you can read a maximum of 40 books for this mini challenge.

If one of your team members also reads (and finishes) your assigned 80s book during the mini challenge, you will receive 30 bonus points. (There is only 30 points per team so although more than 1 team member is welcome to read the book, there are no extra points on offer)

◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1)
◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on February 14, 9am UTC

Ways books could connect:
MPG Fantasy, YA, middle grade, adventure, classics, childrens, romance

British author, Name in title, possessive in title, features an elderly protagonist, features a witch, talking inanimate object, flying object on cover, castle on cover or takes place in a castle, prince in disguise, MC has sisters, hats, Books made into a movie, MC cursed, MC likes to clean etc...

88432 Ahem, you all are probably getting tired of tea, but you should not have had a cow in your recipe if you did not want so many friends. Therefore, you all have been officially invited to join Spearhead Sorbet's tea party as seen below.

On the third evening of the first autumn month, Pinchard’s Fairy Big Fat Tipsy Tea Party was held at Fairyland Castle on Filigree Street. All of society’s finest were in attendance, including Nina, Bloodchild, Coco and Gal Fridays. The party was the big social event of the season, and it is not ok for you, your friends, or anyone to miss it. Even the tiger next door arrived with his favorite mate, Pufferknacker. Pufferknacker is a Paris architect by trade but an artist at heart, so none knew how Pufferknacker was going to showcase the tiger’s masterpiece stripes. They were made of red and black coal dust and were quite glorious until all the stripes disappeared into thin air like fairy dust, as the tiger jumped on stage for the big reveal. I was astonished as zombie jaw after jaw smacked to the ground in laughter. Every Scavenger scrambled to pick up the lost jaws and the Alien Mate, first mate that is, had to offer mortal bonds and play the high card to keep all of them from being the main meal at the Zombie Patrol's wedding. The Paris entourage had to employ evasive maneuvers to avoid the fat stripes that floated around in the air like bizarre string less party balloons. Of course, there are other stories and catastrophes from that night, especially once the Cosmic Affogato was served, but I have been forbidden by the High Mortal Architect’s Association from ever mentioning them again. However, valuable lessons were learned and I am certain the stripes will be fantastic at next year’s gala unless I capture them first.

88432 We need 16 more. I just added Donna's, mine and my mum's for the evening. My mother is good for at least another one, Denise for two, which leaves 13 between the three captains. I can get 6, if you can get 7 minimum, and we will need fewer for each one Donna can read. We can do this.
I have also dropped into novellas and read 1.5 tonight. Tomorrow and Tuesday are my long class days and I am in finals now, but I can hold most of Wednesday and Thursday for reading around a few meetings.

88432 Thank you, I likely have 5 more. Does anyone else know how many books they will read for the rest of the month?

We still need 19 this month.
