Our local library didn't have it, so I had to put in a request for the state interlibrary loan. Because of that, I probably won't have it to even start no sooner than Wednesday, probably not until Friday.
Seems that there is another one associated with this series coming out in January. It's called Fairest: The Lunar Chronicles: Levana's Story

Hmmm - guess maybe I don't need to hurry reading the rest of the series. I picked up Scarlet from the library today. If it doesn't majorly hold my interest then I'll just wait a while to read the third one.
I'll be picking up Scarlet from the library on Monday. Looking forward to those better male characters. Honestly, the doctor was more interesting than Kai.
None of Kai's actions really bothered or surprised me. I guess maybe that was just the way I expected a well behaved royal to act. It was a lot of Cinder's actions that irritated me, as you mentioned in the spoiler.
Maki, it is totally awesome that you can read at work! So few people have that luxury. I think that is one of the advantages of night shift.
Perfect analogy, Maki! I do that both with books and movies I want to watch. For example, I have refused to watch The Hobbit movies and won't until the trilogy is completed. I avoid conversations about books until I am ready to, or have already started, the series.
Finished reading Cinder on Sunday and it did continue to be predictable, but not in a bad way. It was kind of like I would have been irritated if the things I expected didn't happen. It was interesting enough that I will definitely have to read the rest of the series, but not enough that I must start them immediately.

I felt the same way when I read them before - the first was fantastic, the second was really good, but missing so much of the humor (it was more of the darker side of fairy tales), and the third one was back to what I wanted more of. Now, I'm wondering about the 4th installment and how it will play out.
I agree with Maki. I'm only half way through the first book - "Cinder", but it is fairly easy to predict what is going to happen, even without it relating to the Cinderella tale. I usually don't like to read sci-fi, but this one isn't too bad, since it doesn't go overboard on the sci-fi aspects and has enough of the fairy tale basis.

Yeah, I did. That's one reason I want to re-read them before then. Honestly, though, since I am reading Cinder and have some other books from the library (don't even remember the series name right now, but one is The Frog Princess) that I must finish first, I probably won't be able to read these until October. I also made sure to put Amazon gift cards on my birthday wishlist so I'll be able to buy it as soon as it comes out!
Probably much too ambitious! I had to finish a different book I was reading first. Just finished it last night and since I picked up Cinder from the library yesterday, started it today. Only read half a chapter so far, but it hasn't totally bored me or put me off yet. Hasn't super grabbed my interest yet either, though.

Totally agree with you, Heidi! I am one of those readers that get the first book of a series free from Amazon or other source, which is how I got UnEnchanted, and then usually don't read the rest of the series because it isn't interesting enough, or just get them from the library. This series I HAD to buy immediately! I will definitely be reading it again.

Getting a chance to meet the author or a well written series would definitely be strong motivation to re-read them!
