REVIEWS
"With so much stigma in the public about mental health, in part caused by long-standing social pressure to not talk about the mental health issues that plague ourselves or our family, this book rips though the silence with an emotional, raw, and most of all, truthful and unfiltered account of one man's lifetime journey through mental illness.
While the story itself is an enticing read, it's also an important tool for parents, educators, and mental health workers who want a mechanism through which to open the public dialogue about mental health and to foster open communication about the topic.
I applaud the author for opening his soul up to all of us and putting his truth on the pages so that we all may benefit from his experiences."

Is It Harder To Have Agoraphobia When You Have Children
" I cover my head, wear earplugs (sounds are intolerable at times), and weave in and out of fugue-states, tapping my head and counting in a crazed effort to hide from the biting reality all around me.
At times like this, I pity my girlfriend for having to be seen with me… for having to love me.
Obviously, I don’t want my five-year-old son to see his daddy… his hero, acting so bizarre. So weak."

The Invisible fist of verbal abuse
"I spent my childhood doing my best to avoid my father. Sometimes I was so anxious and sleep-deprived, going to school was impossible. My mom would hide me under the cellar stairs until my dad went to his second-shift job.
She’d say, “There’s no telling what he’ll do if he finds out your home again!”
If I was too sick to go to school, he called me a pussy or a wimp. He called me things like that all the time, and his empty shark-like stare dared me to disagree with him.
He had a knack for staring and torturing me with his icy gaze until I inevitably burst into tears. That’s what he seemed to want …
“Told you …you’re a pussy.”

Not Quite Tough Enough
"Colorful light bulbs were flashing, video cameras on cranes were floating through the air, and busy crew members were babbling insistently into their headsets.
I started to question if I could really go through with it. I did, but my confidence was dwindling fast, and it wasn't exactly pretty.
"You're up." Said the random staff member with the headset and clipboard. He gestured toward the ring."

One Man's Struggle With Agoraphobia
"It's difficult to get people, who have no first-hand experience with severe mental illness, to understand the reality of the problem. Far too many people adopt the attitude that you should just "snap out of it," or "it's all in your head."
The fact is; you can't decide you don't have a mental disorder any more than you could decide you don't have cancer. I want to explain what it's like to try to functioning in society with a debilitating psychological illness.

THE GOOD MEN PROJECT
PART 01: Sexual Abuse
"I was six years old when my sister started molesting me. I trusted and loved her, but she chose to betray that trust by manipulating my innocence.
My big sister, who was seven years my senior chose to deform that love in the most vile way. Sometimes, she would lure me into her bedroom with tricks, bribes, or threats. Other times, she might corner me in the basement with brute force and cold eyes."

Book Review by Linda Jackson
"I actually abandoned everything to read this book, I did not move until I had finished it! My lovely children took full advantage of this and I spent the rest of the day cleaning the house but it was worth it.
The way he writes and tells his story draws you in completely."

Book Review by Emma White
"This book without a doubt will go on to help thousands out there suffering from a variety if mental health problems.
The clearness of the intrusive thoughts and sights become real, his desperation and aloneness shines though, he is weak at these times in his life and the vulnerability you feel for this man is heartbreaking. If only I could pull him from the pages, its one of those books that once you begin to read you do not want to put down."

Some Truth About Satanism
"The term "devil worshiper," is thought, by most, to be synonymous with "Satanist." This couldn't be further from the truth. A true Satanist does not believe in Satan... period.
I, absolutely, do not worship the Devil. In my world, both Yahweh (God) and Satan (the Devil) are merely part of a mythology that I hold in the same regard as Zeus, Hades, and Mt. Olympus.
I would feel equally silly, waiting up all night on Christmas Eve to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus, as I would praying to a horned beast in a fiery realm on the other side of life."

Exploring the Issue of Self-Harm
"In my thirties, I became more creative, and graduated from cuts to boiling water and even breaking my own bones on one occasion. Then I started cutting during blackouts, and had to recognize the possibility I would take my own life in a fugue state. I put myself back in the hospital upon that realization."
