80482 Lol. Easier to cut/paste than type or say aloud!

However, it does reinforce gods in fiction however communicated.

80482 Milton Davis is a huge Sword & Soul advocate and author.

He and others have a Kickstarter going on now for their Changa and the Jade Obelisk comic... with associated novels.

I sprung for the Sword & Soul package,

80482 Lol. Maybe its better in polish...
That’s poignant.

80482 Of course, Hercules and Xena were much sillier and YA appropriate (closer to situational comedy). Witcher has more of a soap opera vibe.

Btw, it’s great to see you again Phil!

80482 I swear the rat-faced prince (Law of Surprise guy) had his costume/special effects taken from the TV show Grimm
80482 I should try Origins. It’s pretty close. We’ll see. Do you play games only? I think Aaron Rosenberg helps organize a writers symposium there.
80482 Brian, great question about hardcovers. Has me thinking... and I just offer some quick thoughts.

I use Lulu for my Dyscrasia books. There are some design and proof-copy costs that can be significant. Designing the paper wrap is more difficult than a paperback cover too. But still very doable, as you mention..

You may be special, since many people are not willing to pay extra for hardcovers (even for established authors). Independent publishers have a difficult time selling any books, even the Kindle versions. So some prioritization is needed. And the formats for print and eBooks take priority and can be exhausting enough. Or they used to be.... every yr the process gets easier.

Btw, thanks for trying out Lords of Dyscrasia. I’m a regular at Gencon and volunteer at the Writer's symposium there. Also, I have a book for beer/coffee
program ... so if you find me I may buy you a beverage.

80482 >300 helpful votes!

Turns out the recent Netflix Witcher series spurred interest in Sapkowski's novels. I reviewed The Last Wish in 2016 as part of this Goodreads group.

Anyway, it turns out the review is the top review right now on Amazon (US)!

So we can have an impact. Please review as often as you can.

I really need to read Heroic Fantasy. Sigh, not enough time!

Just wrapped up Death Dealers & Diabolists.

It was a solid anthology of authors I didn't know before. Highly recommended for this crowd.

80482 The timing confusion (parallel stories not in synch) could have been clarified for sure... but the series was good enough, it compels me to watch it all again.... perhaps Im procrastinating something else. Lol

80482 Thanks to the crew here... I tracked down and read The Black Sorcerer of the Black Castle... what a bunch of BS! (there's a joke in there)

review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

The afterword by offutt reveals the story's evolution. More importantly, it showed how multiple readers/editors preferred a particular balance of humor and action. In fact, offutt confessed he learned via working with BS of his Great Discovery:
"pornography and heroic fantasy have something much in common: both quite for different reasons, need to create a mood and a spell, and to make it last --and neither, can be overwritten.
