be back on tomorrow afternoon though ~

If there was one class Skye was notoriously bad at, it was chemistry. All the formulas and the elements and the maths — she really didn't understand the lot of it, no matter how hard her friends tried to explain. The last time they'd had a test, they stayed up all night studying together. When they'd gotten the test back and compared marks, all her friends had netted As. Skye just barely pulled a C−.
"Well, it could be worse," her friend had said. "At least you didn't fail."
She'd just shaken her head. "Chemistry's not that important anyways." Maybe that wasn't the entire truth. It was definitely important to her pride, but she'd be lying if she said she hadn't seen it coming. Something about this class just made her thoughts wander more than usual.
Today was no different.
The teacher, an older man who probably could have narrated bedtime stories for a living, droned on at the front of the room, describing the functions that would be necessary for today's lab. Meanwhile, Skye found herself with chin in palm, watching out the window as snow fluttered down to the ground. Her eyes followed one particularly large fluff's journey as it stuck itself to the window glass and melted away.
"... so find yourself a lab partner and get started."
Skye snapped to attention. Her head turned to the other kids in her class, desperately looking for one of her close friends. There were only two in her hour, and from the looks of it, they'd already snagged each other as partners. She sighed with frustration but stood from her chair, eyes scanning the room for anyone that hadn't already paired up.

It had been a long day. Haeun's shift — a monotonous eight hours stuffed with refilling coffees and taking the same orders — had finally ended a few minutes ago. She had already changed, trading out her uniform for a red shirt, a black jacket, jeans, and converse, and had found her way to the restaurant's bar, sitting square in the middle.
"Again?" Austin, a waiter with short brown hair and puppy eyes, asked. She nodded, eyes too focused on scanning the restaurant. From the corner of her vision she could see his eyes roll, but he left without saying anything else. It seemed like he'd given up on asking her why she always stayed here her shift, even after she'd complained for eight hours straight about it. She thought that was smart: it wasn't like she would have given him a straight answer anyways.
Her eyes flickered over the diner's attendance, moving from booth to booth, table to table. There was a wide selection, almost too wide. The diner, though not where she would have chosen to spend her night's out, was always a popular spot with high school and college students, especially on the weekends. She caught one of them in her eye: a boy, probably around twenty years old. He was sat at a table by himself, eyes glancing curiously at the bill a waiter had just laid down. He'd be an easy catch, she thought, waiting for him to stand and walk out the diner.
She made the move to stand up and follow when a young blonde girl came out of the bathroom. The blonde linked arms with the boy, smiling brightly at him. Damn. Haeun frowned, letting out a heavy sigh as she planted herself back in her chair, eyes hunting for another meal.

That's a relief, Lacey thought, remembering the stories her relatives used to tell her. Similar to Cora, the rest of her family wouldn't have been this friendly to someone of another species. Even humans to some of her family (her older aunts, mostly) were seen as wastes of time to interact with. What would they think of her talking to a werewolf? She blocked the thought - and the rest of the things she'd heard about Cora's kind - out of her mind. They didn't matter.
Having not said anything for a bit, Lacey could feel the silence settle around them. It was quiet, and she suddenly realized that amount of time she'd spent in the forest. She'd only meant for it to be a short walk, long enough to skip dinner with her mother. At this point, counting her walk home (which was definitely not on the way), she'd missed it and then some.
Clearing her throat, she decided to ask one question. Before she left here, she was curious about one thing. "Do you go to school at Warwick?" After all, the girl did look about her age. Lacey didn't think she'd seen her before, but that wasn't out of the ordinary. She was fairly quiet and tended to leave the school grounds pretty fast after classes let out. It wouldn't surprise her if the two had just never ran into each other before.

@Jupiter yeah! Let’s do it. And we could have it end up with romance since he’s still free. Where do we have the..."
For sure! gimme a bit cuz i'm replying to another thread, but i'll get on it asap :)

Yeah sure! Any ideas where?

@devo: lololol aight. he sounds great LOL. any rp location ideas? i was thinking maybe they could have a class together? i think PE could be fun or just a normal class. or somewhere in the town if that would work better?
im indecisive as usual

@Fayza: Sure! Where at? i was thinking maybe the diner since no one's posted there in a while? and would you wanna post first or should i?
@Devo: we could do something with skye and maybe either bryce or nasir if you'd like? :)also hi it's been literally ages since we rped together LOL

skye is your friendly neighborhood dragon
and haeun's a not very friendly vampire

The girl's smile was comforting, and it made the corners of Lacey's lips curl up into a small grin. To her, apologies were always a good idea, even if they weren't completely warranted. They made for a good restart.
Despite a few of the reservations still in the back of her mind, Lacey took a step forward. Maybe it was stupid to befriend a werewolf — she wasn't sure what her mother would say about this whole thing — but the same could be said about her. Both of their species were dangerous, but that only meant they had more in common.
She reached out her hand, giving the other girl a light handshake. The question, however, made her falter a bit, her hand reaching back. "No." Her eyebrows scrunched together. "You haven't either, right?" That would be a bit of a friendship killer, wouldn't it? Judging by the way the girl asked, though, she kind of doubted she was talking to a murderer. Or at least, she hoped she wasn't.

you're the sweetest <3 i'll move it up here in a moment, but i do need help picking a ballroom:
1. https://www.aegworldwide.com/sites/de......"
definitely 4
and i agree, a balcony (or multiple) and maybe even a gazebo on top of a balcony would be cool. just so people could escape the event in some way for a bit.

i think that sounds really cute and would give us a good starting point for a lot of character relationships :)
it's also really reminiscent of my first ever rp group, so i'm biased LOL
and i think a couples thread would be a good idea.
also, yeah, i've been in kind of a writing slump recently. i got kinda disheartened a few days ago, so i took a bit of a break yesterday and today to kinda chill.

ooh, for sure! that sounds really interesting. i'll definitely rp with you :) just lemme know when ~
