Hello.
Wow, English and you like tea? How novel. (Joking.)

78394 I did the last one as well, but I haven't decided if I'm attempting again. Whenever I tell myself I'm going to sit and read x books in x days it never works out.

78394 It depends on the subject matter, personally, and what else I've got in rotation. If it's an author in one of my preferred author groups, languages, genres, et cetera they get tedious, but are easy to avoid. Otherwise, they are generally useful, if not critical for a culture or language that I am unfamiliar with in any way. The only time when I am strongly against notes is in audio books, where it is an extremely annoying break from the narrative no matter where they stick it.

Hello!
In my recent history I have developed a similar obsession with Neil Gaiman. His work is just beautifully constructed.
Ice cream can not count, as it can contain cookie pieces, cake and pie chunks at the same time, you cheater!! ;)
The inclusion of a favorite quote is very nice. That may have to be something stolen for the next thread.

Hello Kainzow! It's never too late for an official intro. Wow, I'm only read one thing by Kafka. Excuse me while hide in the corner in shame.

78394 Hello!
Harry Potter tends to take up a lot of reading hours, especially if you start young as I did.
Your completion of every book is admirable. I have not had such dedication, despite trying for years. Welcome

Hi Luke. Way to perpetuate stereotypes. ;)
I've never read anything by Cassandra Clare, but she's on my eventual list.

Hello. Chocolate is amazing, obviously, but I've never been into mocha. It can be difficult to decide how to read things at times, especially if you have a massive list of goals as I do. I've seen your commenting around, but still have yourself an official welcome.

Hello Elaina.
My zeal for Sherlock Holmes is hard to overcome. The stories for the most part, hold up so well it is amazing. Just spread it out, because when you get to the end, and know that there are no more ever, it is sad. Welcome.

78394 Michelle wrote: "Great question! I think it was random, and that's part of what makes the story so sad. What would the twins have been like had she lived?"
I'm more on the chance side of things personally. However...
What comes to mind for me is the difference in responses that people could have had had one of the twins been the one to fall out.

78394 "Princesses Behaving Badly" seems interesting to me, but a poll seems like a great idea.

78394 Ishita wrote: "Does Agatha Christie fall under classic?"

I don't know if she'd fall under a lot of peoples interpretation of classics, but personally she would be a classic of the mystery genre, just due to the impact that she had on popular culture. Granted, I have yet to read one of her books, but just off of reputation and interpretations alone, her classic status is at least considerable.
78394 The love aspect of things was more apparent to me than marriage, as even the relationships between family members were rather lacking in comfort or affection. The marriages were not happy, but on a greater scale, very few people put another person first in any circumstance mentioned, despite how much love they claimed to have for one another, or one would imagine that they should have felt.

You can still read a bit late; it's a book club, not a indoctrination center. "Anna Karenina" took me a week longer than I expected because I just couldn't get it into my skull. The threads commonly see new comments for a week or so after we're officially done with a book, and there is always someone doing a personal ketchup and mustard challenge somewhere.
