721 Anyone else get a little joy when they see a book they have read via Netgalley in the shops? Shopping at Big W last night for my son and saw both The Woman Who Knew Too Little and Gemini Falls. I was a little excited!

721 I read this one as an ARC, only 3 stars for me. Review here:

I couldn't get into that one, hopefully this new one is better for me.

Ahhhh, I'm trying to knock off my netgally books before I request more, but I couldn't pass on this one given I live in Adelaide like 2 minutes from Somerton beach....:P
Thanks!
721 4 stars for me for this one. My review is here:

721 Given I read this book earlier in the year I figured I may as well post my review. This one was only average for me.

721 Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't be promoting that fact. My US account has a different email and is set up with a US address, so maybe that's it...not really sure....I hope they don't cancel it - that's my main one!

721 Hi all, I'm new here. I just stumbled upon this group today.

I'm currently reading Unforgiven by Sarah Barrie, as I have an ARC from Netgally for Retribution so thought I should read book 1 first. I went to read some of the reviews for Unforgiven and saw the post down the bottom 'October 2022 - first thoughts' - no spoilers - Unforgiven'. So clicked on that - and here I am! I see your November books are The Unusual Abduction of Avery Conifer and Lily Harford's Last Request - both of which I have read already (sourced from Netgally)....so I figured this might be my kind of group.

So I'm Bec from Adelaide. I love reading, all genres pretty much except for horror and non-fiction aren't really my thing. I have 2 kindles - one has a US amazon account and one Aussie - so I get the best of both worlds. I'm really enjoying reading books set in Australia - just adds something when you know the area. Can't wait to chat with you all.

721 Finished!!
1). Geographical Setting: Read a book set in a different country than your own.
The Story of Us - set in New England USA Read 8/11 - sped through this one as I really enjoyed it. 4.5 stars.

2). Travel to a Different Genre: Read a book from a genre you haven't explored before/for a long time. The Shining - Horror Read 30/11 3 stars. I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the right mood but I didn't find this scary at all.

3). Cover Hunt: Read a book with a picture of a mode of transport on the cover.
Duke motorbike read 17/11 4 stars

4). Title: Read a book with a PLACE NAME in the title, such as the name of a country, state, city, town, etc. Titles with words like ‘woods’, ‘beach’, ‘mountain’, ‘river’, ‘garden’, ‘park’, etc, in the title would count as places too.
The Girl Who Came Home Read 6/11 - 4 stars (after a slow start)

5).Reader’s Choice: Read any book of your choice.
Picnic at Hanging Rock Australian Author Read 4/11 - 4 stars

5/5 completed
Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay The Girl Who Came Home by Hazel Gaynor The Story of Us by Stephanie Henry Duke (Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club, #1) by Candace Blevins The Shining by Stephen King

Found some extra time last night.....only 15 minutes to go now (according to my kindle). Will do it on train tonight!

721 I'm getting concerned about whether I will finish or not...I've still got about 3 hours left in my last book (The Shining) and only 3 days to do it! Given I normally only read to and from work (15-20 minutes each way) I'm going to have to find some extra time to squeeze the reading in!
Nov 22, 2016 02:36PM

721 I've started my last book for the challenge - The Shining - different genre.
Nov 15, 2016 02:16AM

721 Oh awesome effort Jennifer!
Nov 13, 2016 03:22PM

721 I've finished my 4th book - book with transport on the cover. I read Duke (Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club, #1) by Candace Blevins with a motorbike on the front.
4 stars!
Nov 09, 2016 02:54PM

721 I've decided to sub in The Shining for book from a different genre. Again for horror. I don't think I've read Stephen King before, I may have but if I have it was a long time ago.

But I'm currently reading Duke as my book with transport on the cover (motorbike).
