hehe - FB has My book on his Currently Reading list cos of the mix up. Not sure how they got swapped, can only assume it has something to do with using the same computer to log in from.
No it was me - sorry should've been more clear. It had hooked my FB to his GR for some reason, but it's all sorted now - thank you anyways.
I reset BOTH passwords - and then had to re-link with Facebook. All sorted now, but was so frustrating. Sorry but thanks for looking. It was like both FB accounts had linked to the one GR account.

So it seems I stuffed up and the audible upgrades I had purchased from my collection where in America - problem being I'm in Australia. I had to find the purchases first (which took me awhile as I didn't know what happened) then organise refunds (which was easier than any other company I've been through) BUT I can not just buy the Australian equal, as in most cases the Aussie version is dearer, plus my refund will take a few days to come through. Disappointing beginning, but I'm still looking forward to playing with my Kindle Fire for my b'day next month...which I'm pretty sure is the brown paper delivery I had come today.

I've been a bit naughty at the local library, as they no longer charge to order in a book. So I'm reading 3 books atm, with a few physical book and audiobooks in wait :)1x graphic novel = Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures, Volume 2
1x audio book = Spider Bones Which I am up to the last disc and enjoying the story.
1x ebook = Only You Can Save Mankind which I'll finish in the next day or so.

I don't think I'm going to enjoy the next couple months - I have issues with heat and don't handle it well. Found out my real estate would like to remove the air con, but I put my foot down that they can't remove a service that was here when I first leased. Feel sorry for the next tennant though - imagine being the only unit out of 52 with no air con.
I have read A Child Called "It" which was hard to stomach, although approached positively.I have read The Ant Thief and given a review, as it was a book I had been requested to review. Aimed at children younger than my kid, but was a sweet little story.
I have read The Plagiarist which I thoroughly enjoyed, even though I saw the twist coming, I was surprised when it turned out to be correct.
I have read You Add the Rainbow Adult Coloring Book another book I was requested to review, which is exactly as the title sounds, a colouring book for adults. Not naughty by nature, just intricate patterns that are easy to get lost in. Great to do whilst listening to a book.
It doesn't help though - my to-read shelf grew by over 20 books...4 down and 2 in process.
So after reading this thread I've decided to try audible.com.au member, and picked out You're Never Weird on the Internet for my free trial. I've been after this book for a while, but having recently gotten an old car (after 8 years of public transport) I'm finding a book to listen to helps keep me calm whilst driving. I've picked out a couple books read by Stephen Fry, and have added a Robin Hobb book to my wish list.
Any rec for a really good fantasy read by someone with a voice you want to listen too?

I had that problem a few months ago, only my washing machine had died the month before, I had just saved up the doh for a new one when the fridge blew, and became a necessity. Unfortunately I had to get the cheapest one I could, which doesn't even have enough space for a opened can to stand upright without taking out a shelf :( At least it works though...
I have a couple of books that need a new home - only after postage costs, so it depends on where you are located, but coming from 2287 Wallsend. My Story: "A Child Called It", "The Lost Boy", "A Man Named Dave"
A Brother's Journey
If no one wants them they'll go to the library, as they are in near-new condition.
I've managed to read 3 books from my to-read shelf, only to have that shelf somehow increase by nearly 20 books. I have a short-list-to-read shelf, which means books I've already bought or purchased in real life or on kindle. I do find myself starting to buy more books on ebook format rather than hard-print, simply cos I can keep the book once read, without having to find room for another bookcase.
I miss the show version - I see what you mean about Temperance being different. There's no squints (or at least, the ones we know from the show). No Booth. Katie is all grown up. Temperance's brother died as a kid from leukaemia. I'm listening to the audiobook for Spider Bones as it was what my local library had, I'm still enjoying the book, just finding it so different.

I love the adult colouring books, even my 11 yo son has gotten into them. I have a small collection going now, I use different mediums depending on how i'm feeling, pencil, colour, pens, texta etc
I love the way you have your challenge set out - and the variety involved. I'm afraid I'm not as diverse a reader as you, but I hope you find some truly interesting reads this year (whats left of it)
I've seen so many challenges that are already in process, if there is a buddy read for a book i'm interested in, they're usually well into the book by the time I find the thread. So I'm setting myself a challenge - I have gotten my to-read down shelf to 219 books, and I am currently reading 2 of those books, one which should be finished tonight. My goal is to get my to-read shelf down to under 200 - by reading the books rather than deleting any.

This is the short list of the books I plan to tackle sooner.

This is my to-read list, tell me if there are any you really loved that should be moved to the short list, or any that you think I shouldn't bother with.
As a side note - I also plan to finish my current studies - my first attempt at a diploma ever. I'm doing Digital Media Tech by correspondence, which has been a real challenge for me to even begin. I was meant to finish on the 2nd of this month, but I still have 5 assessments left to do (out of 68).
My health, both mentally and physically are not in a good place at the moment, and although I have joined a gym, ride my bike, and are taking steps to help my health, it is a constant struggle, but I don't want to say too much, as I don't need the pity. I do need to pull my socks up and lose some weight, get my blood balanced again, and move on from some of my past hurts.

Australia makes the best horror movies in my opinion. The Loved Ones and Babadook would be the ones that scared me the most. Was surprised to find out Babadook was supported by a kickstarter fund, so glad it raised its money as it freaked me (without being overly gorish or sick)I've recently watched The Librarians and Upper Middle Bogan, both were hilarious with 2 seasons each. Written by the same couple (not sure if they are a couple or just a writing duo). Upper Middle Bogan has just been released on Netflix - main thing I miss about my subscription to Quickflix was that they tended to add a new Aussie comedy on a monthly basis.
I'm a huge fan of the tv show, and have deliberated about the books because of this, but I may try a book or two for myself, see how they compare.@Laura did you decide to read the books as well?
