The doctors lay Corrin in a bed in a small hospital room. They unraveled all his bandages and examined all his wounds. They had Violet step outside as they stitched and disinfected everything. She sat on the floor outside the room with Damian, holding his hand. "I hope he'll be okay."
Violet and Damian placed Corrin on the stretcher, and Violet outlined all his wounds as they carried him to a room. She held back tears.
Violet and Damian carried Corrin into the hospital waiting room. "Hi," she said to the receptionist. "We need a doctor, like, now!"
Violet nodded as she hopped into the driver seat. "Yeah. And make sure he doesn't fall off the seat. And keep his should wound at a higher elevation than his heart."Damian sat in the back seat with Corrin, and Violet started to drive.
Violet smiled. "Of course! I mean, I own a car." She fished the keys out of her pocket. "It's a ten minute drive, but could you sit in back with Corrin?"
Violet looked at Corrin, then at Damian. "Don't bother with the kitchen. Let's go now." Together they managed to lift Corrin, Violet supporting his head, Damian grasping his feet. They carefully carried him to Violet's small car. "Ummmm...Damian, I take it you can't drive?" Violet asked as they laid Corrin in the back seat.
Violet snorted and attempted to suppress the rest of her giggles. She shrugged. "Saturdays are always a bit sketchy, 'cause sometimes I go to the shore. Usually a customer will knock if I don't put an 'Away, back at_________' sign on the door, just to see if I'm home. But we can leave it closed today." She stood up, leaning on the fridge door. She pulled Damian to his feet. "So, pancakes?"
Violet flopped on the kitchen tile, pulling Damian down on the floor next to her, laughing her head off. "Screw the coffee!" she laughed, unplugging the coffee pot from the floor. "This is more fun anyway!"
Violet continued to twirl around, dragging Damian behind her, laughing."A whole new world! A new fantastic point of view!! No one to tell us no, or where to go, or say we're only dreaming" Damian finished.
"A whole new world-a dazzling place I never knew! But when I'm way up here, it's crystal clear, that now I'm in a whole new world with you!" Violent sang, starting Jasmine's part.
{YEAH!!}Violet laughed. "Of course not! Come on!" She spun him around the kitchen. "A WHOLE NEEEWWWW WORLD! I can show you the world, shining, shimmering, splendid! Tell me, princess, now when did you last let your heart decide?"
Violet fiddled with the spatula. "Thanks. I'm sure Corrin will appreciate it when he feels better," she said, pulling a few pancakes off the stove. "Do you really think so? About my voice?" she asked, turning up the music again. She smiled involuntarily as A Whole New World started playing. "Hey! Sing with me! It is a duet!" She put the spatula down and took Damian's hands, beginning to dance.
Violet was singing when Damian came into the kitchen. She heard him and stopped abruptly. "I put some coffee on, but there's hot water in the tea pot if you'd rather have tea. And I'm just starting the pancakes...Then I'm gonna redress all of Corrin's wounds. I think, if you'd help, then, we could bring him to the hospital." She turned down the music she had been singing to and flipped the pancakes.
