{Wait, so Corrin's awake, right?}Violet ignored Damian's comment and continued to read to Corrin, holding his hand.
Violet closed the book. "It's not your fault, Nikara. Actually, it would be my fault 'cause I let him leave in the dark and the rain..."
Damian sat in the chair when he realized Violet wasn't going anywhere for at least a few more minutes. She sat by Corrin's bed and read outloud.
Violet squeezed her eyes shut tighter. Then she slowly opened them. They felt sore from all the crying she had done last night as she saw Corrin lying there in the hospital completely unconscience. She felt his hand in hers and vaguely remembered grasping it before falling asleep. She looked up at Damian, who was crouching right next to her. "Hi," she said quietly, slipping her hand out of Corrin's. She got up and looked down at him. Then she turned to Damian. "You're sure we can't stay for just a bit longer? What if he wakes up while we're gone?"
{It's under the "Creative Writing" section of GR. I am gonna post it on Wattpad, but I have to reformat it.}
{Yeah, I know, right?! I think I'm getting pretty hot on writing sad bits and romance bits. Hey-would you read the first bits of my creative writing story on here?}
Violet looked at the girl through watering eyes. Since Damian was explaining she went and sat down on the floor next to the bed and leaned against the squeaky bed frame. She pushed the hair from his face and took his hand, starting to read, but her tears fell too fast and stained the pages.
"I'll be fine, Damian. Thank you, though." Then something occurred to her, and she searched her pockets. "Oh, here we are. Damian," she said, handing him a key, "could you take this key and look after the shop today? You could stay over, work on your alphabet and whatever, eat, and then if you could lock it up at night."
{Nope, that sounds perfect!}Violet sighed in relief. "Thank Odd!" she said as the doctor said Corrin would be all right. Then she processed his question. "Wha-No! But we're really good friends," she explained, thinking of their kiss. "And I think I'll stay." She waved her book. "I have my book."
Violet squeezed Damian's hand harder. "I guess so...But I still feel horrid." Then the doctor called them in and Violet bolted up, accidentally dragging Damian with her. "Is he gonna be all right? How bad is everything? Can I stay over tonight?" she fired questions at him.
Violet looked up at the girl through watering eyes. "We don't know how, but he broke his arm and did something bad to his leg and is all scratched up and it's my fault!"
