Hey Ladies, how is everyone doing? I am starting on next months Factory Report and wanted to know if there was anything anyone wanted me to put in...And maybe a suggestion on what challenge to feature.

Also want your opinion on a challenge idea. I was doing the buddy read and I remembered a challenge I use to do in another group that was really popular...it's actually really similar to your You Want Me to Read What challenge Jennifer. Basically they would sign up, I would make a list like

Jenne
Denise
and you pick for the person below you (person on the bottom does the top). I would give out a set amount of categories (maybe something to do with the months or a theme I pick) and you have to give the person you are picking for suggestions for each category. A lot of times this entails going through your persons book shelves wich is always awesome because you end up finding new books and authors! Its also a good way to get to know members because you don't choose who you pick for (I think that's how yours is too right Jennifer?) Each person has to not only make a list for someone to choose a book but also pick at least one book from the list they are given and read...then everyone shares on the thread and discusses! I don't know why but I always loved making my list for the other person...also getting suggestions and finding books/authors from others:) Do you think it's too close to the You Want me to Read What? I could always try it for a month and see how it goes...what do you guys think?

Instructions and Info

Rules:
Use this thread to find your buddy and determine your book! You can always start by posting books, authors or genres you are interested in! When you decide who you buddy and your book you will head on over to the FINAL SIGN UP thread (see link at bottom) and tell me your book and buddy there (there will be instructions to follow) If you are without a partner by the end of sign up I will match the remaining people up, so no worries...EVERYONE will have a buddy:-)

1.If you want to participate post your name and maybe let people know what genre(s) you are interested in reading.

2.If you already know who you’d like to read with, go to the Final Sign UP thread and post your information for me!

3.Whoever doesn’t have a partner, we will place with another person and you guys can pick a book together! If we have an odd number we can have groups of three, more people to discuss with!

4.I will create Buddy Discussion Threads for each Buddy group and you will be able to start reading and discussing on February 1st!

5.The challenge will span a month.

6.For each group we can set up a thread so the two of you can discuss without having to sift through a bunch of other conversation. But please leave us updates as to how far along you guys are and how you’re liking the book!

7.You CAN sign up for more than one Buddy Read...in fact it's encouraged! And I'm giving a full month just for reading this time around so it will give you more time for more books!!!

ANY QUESTIONS JUST ASK!

Once you've found a book & a buddy go to the Final Sign Up and post a link to your book & who you'll be reading it with.

Finished and now on to already disturbing and only on chapter 5...LOVE it!

I still do not totally understand the DIY challenge thread...would it just be a generic thread where they can post their challenge list? Can they not do that in the thread for the original challenge? I'm all for it if you think that it will spark intrest though! I'm just a little slow on the uptake I think! lol

If the Challenge is in the 2nd Chance folder you can still use that thread to play if you want or you can def create a thread to do the challenge...and their might even be others that are doing it with you! And of course you can always add any challenge to your challenge Log...Maybe just let us know if there is a challenge that you are looking for and we can help you track it down...The Mods try to move completed challenges to the 2nd chance folder with in a week once the deadline is done! Also I'm not sure if you noticed but the 2nd Chance folder does have an Index http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/9... that you can check out what's in there...also Jenne is the Mod that archives the challenges FROM 2nd chance folder to regular ARchives, so if your looking for something you might ask her:) I really hope this helps Dyllan!

And two things real quick ladies...

1st-I went ahead and ended the Social Media Contest...I was trying to get us to 100 likes but it was taking forever! Rachel was our winner and I'm sending her a 10$ Amazon GC...I did 3 runner ups and they are getting BookMarks:)

2nd-Over the last couple months as you know I have had some major internet trouble and we finally have become fed up with the company and the BULLS*** that spews from their mouths...when you can get them on the phone that is!!!!!!! Anyways we are switching on friday so I am hoping that this means no more problems...a girl can hope anyways! Okay rant done...just giving a little heads up, shouldn't effect anything other than maybe no internet for a couple of hours:)

What Jennifer said! lol I keep wanting to make new challenges but I'm just not sure what direction to go! I don't want to have a bunch of duplicates with only minor variations so suggestion would be great!

Dyllan we do only keep a few challenges in the 2nd chance (they all go there t some point but then they get moved out after a time)...Like for a monthly challenge we only keep the last two, BUT they do get moved to archives and the threads are still up and goin so you can post and ask questions and it will still work like a regular challenge...http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_.... Also there is a Challenge GR's group that is called 2nd chance challenge (I will see if I can find the link) that use a lot of of archived challenges so maybe you could find some of the previous ones there! I hope that helps what you are looking for...As far as the DIY I'm not exactly sure how that would be set up, but maybe if you explain we can see if there is something similar or something we can set up!!!

YAY! I'm glad that you like it:) And I agree, we have so much going on on the home page stuff can get lost! so hopefully this will be a direct route to some of the more popular stuff:)
