Mercedes looked down at his Mobile as he drove. Maybe he'd call one of the twins, he hadn't heard much from either one since they all had became taken. The thought left him as soon as he saw the Viper and yellow Corvette coming towards him from the oncoming traffic lane. They seemed familiar. Racers from out of town. . . He tried to wrap his mind around
who . . .

Knightmare blushed. For the briefest moment, he seriously considered hooking up with Ranger, if only for a night. None of his exes had
ever told him such a thing, not
even to get him in bed. "I. . . er," he stuttered before the moment passed. Then it was gone and he stared out the windshield at the city that they were approaching.
Mercedes had left his home with Corey early that morning. There was something on his mind and he just had to drive. He had left his lover a note on the nightstand, ending it with, "And maybe I'll see you on the road, eh?" Now he drove aimlessly through town in his Corvette.

((Yeah))

Knightmare turned to him, suddenly apologetic. "I'm sorry but . . . I just can't unless it's love. . . " he said. He gulped and looked back out the window. He noticed that they were passing a sign that read "Welcome to Strike County."

He turned his head to face the window, not exactly wanting to meet Ranger's gaze. Knightmare had believed, if only a few minutes ago, that he might be able to fall for Ranger. But now. . . . he shook his head. "Oh, I see," he replied.

Knightmare frowned briefly. "Define, your kind of living," he replied.

Knightmare nodded. "That is correct. It means nothing to me if there is no love between us," he said. Then he flushed with embarrassment, sure he sounded crazy.

((Kay))

((Yeah, until we're ready over there. So we should also post there with the skip, you know, Trick out of the hospital etc etc.))
((I'll be back in like 20 minutes. I'm going for dinner.))

((Cobra wanted to find Corey, Ranger wanted to find some racer to hook up with, and Knightmare is just along for the ride))

((Yeah. . . Should we continue their conversation there? Or here until we're ready to bring them over there?))

((We should Rp a little there before these guys show too, just for the time skip))

Knightmare flinched. "Back up, buddy," he said a little harsher than he intended. "I never said I
slept with my past loves. In fact, that's why I'm not with any of them anymore. They all wanted to sleep with me and wouldn't tell me they loved me back so I had to leave. . . ." his voice trailed off. Then, "I'm still a virgin."

Knightmare blushed. "It's what
they wanted. . . The first wanted this done, the next added that, the next thought this would look good. . . . and so forth until this happened," he replied. "Now it's just a part of who I am." He shrugged.

Knightmare avoided looking at Ranger as Ranger studied his face. "I am 18," he said. Then, "I was dating 25 year olds when I was 13. . . . I don't know what I was thinking, they all only wanted the same thing and I thought I was in love with them. . . " his voice trailed off.

Knightmare looked away, watching out the window as they drove.
Tell me about yourself, Ranger had said. There was a lot, should he tell it all? What would be best kept to himself? After several moments he began to speak. "I never knew my father, he died or left shortly after I was born my mother would never tell me either way. I think he left. My family's always been poor, we live in a rental house with two bedrooms, a small living room, a small bathroom, and a really small kitchen. It is the three of us, me, my twin brother, and my mother. My mother isn't there most of the time, she has severe heart problems and is constantly in the hospital as a result. She doesn't work but she gets money from the state. Most of that money pays for rent and food and gas and only a fraction goes to the hospital. We're in a lot of debt, one of the reasons why I needed a job. My brother and I attend a fancy private school because one of my past love's paid tuition until we graduate. I've had my heart broken more times than I can count because my love's only ever want one thing and they don't love me back." He stopped and shrugged. "That's about it. . . Well, my brother and I kind of hate each other's guts and the only car the family has is an old beater from the 70s or something. I got my motorcycle from one of my past loves and each of these piercings came from one of them, a different one every time, too."

Knightmare nodded a thanks and climbed into the Corvette. He had never been in such a nice car before and couldn't stop himself from gawking at its beauty. Maybe he'd be able to afford one as nice after a few races. Maybe he'd get his mother one.

Knightmare strayed closer to Ranger, slightly embarrassed. He wondered what the older man thought of his face, his piercings, everything. Each piercing was a reminder to him of a love gone and lost and he chose to wear them proudly. He studied his feet, stealing glances up at Ranger's face, trying to read his expression.

Knightmare looked between them. "I'll ride with Ranger on the way there and with you on the way back," he told Cobra. "Let's go."

Knightmare nodded, powered his bike down, and eased it into the garage. He yanked it up onto the kick stand, his hands hovering over it until he was certain that it was sturdy. Then, with his back to Cobra and Ranger, he unstrapped his helmet and pulled it over his head. He set it on the seat. Knightmare bent over the chrome handle bars of his bike and fussed with his hair for a moment, using the chrome as a mirror. Then he turned back towards Cobra and Ranger and walked out of the garage.
