I am looking for a beta reader for my 116k-word adult fantasy, and I would love it if you could take a look at it (should it pique your interest). It is a magic-filled novel that is grou..."
Hi Juliet,
I don't know if this is me intruding, but I saw a few mistakes that I think I should bring to your notice.
1. It should be "Wizard brothers" instead of "brother wizards"
2. I feel like you should use "but when she discovers a book that alerts her to her real lineage", that'll personalize it. Discovery makes it sound like the book was discovered by multiple people.
3. You don't need to say "the same two brothers", brothers is always plural. Besides we already know that she was saved by 2 brothers.
4. I think it should be "her magic is emerging for the first time in her twenty years of life", instead of what's above.
5. I think it should be "It’s a cruel world to traverse for any witch, especially one orphaned in the way that she was", there's no need for "but" in that sentence.
6. "Secretly sent twenty years into the future by her mum as a newborn and placed with a non-magical family, in the hopes of keeping her safe from the magical world". So this means that she lived with a non-magical for some years family before the brother's saved her?
7. "But time has other plans for the witch, and even prepared with what she’s already learned of her future, she isn’t quite ready for what happens when she finds herself pulled twenty-two years into the past". I also feel like you shouldn't include this part in your blurb, it's giving away too much.
You could maybe say " But time has other adventures planned for the witch".
I don't know if you'll check back and see this since this isn't your original post. I sincerely hope you don't take this the wrong way.
Warm regards,
Blessing.
