She was paid $20 million to be in the movie. More than you or I will ever see in a lifetime of working.
What she was suing for was her cut of the profits from its theatre release. Which could have added many more millions.

It wasn't available to watch for over week.

Babylon conquests, most famously by Hammurabi.
Alexander the Great.
Turks invading Persia, India, Tibet and points east.
The wars the Maya fought against neighboring peoples.
The conquering of Sumer circa 2500 BC.
The Japanese and Chinese going back and forth for the last couple thousand years."
Homo Sapiens invading Europe and ousting the Neanderthals.
Homo Sapiens invading Asia and displacing the Denisovans
and it goes back even further than that. We've been invading and displacing others since before we left trees.
We will, probably, still do it when we eventually meet other sentient species in the Universe.
Or they, or our own robots, will do it to us.

I find that statement strange. I can go online, buy a book (or Graphic novel) and have it on my iPad in under 2 minutes.
How is that not easy? 😕

Our own Veronica was in an actual Lady Bathory scene in an earlier life as "Virgin #5"

Land of the Lost meets The 100?.....
The fx are fine but man that looks terrible. How is this kind of writing making it to network?"
It is bad. The CGI is terrible. The storylines are ridiculous.
(view spoiler)
There are definite "Lost" vibes and one of the characters even calls it out. "Maybe we are just in an episode of Lost"
I think we can rule Hollow Earth out as to where they are. I think they are leading more towards it being an alternate timeline and/or dimension with the green light being a portal.
Yeah this is pretty bad.

It was made in Melbourne, Australia, which is doubling as LA and the rest of it is made in rural Victoria (Australia).
It does sound like it might be fun in a popcorn "leave your brain at the door" sort of way. Plus I am a bit of a fan of Natalie Zea and will watch anything she's in 😎 (Spoiler: She doesn't die in the first 5 minutes, as show in the trailer)

The other 2 are more visual in design. They can be done audibly, but I think they would lose a lot of the feel of the original graphic novels.
One day I will try out the Sandman audiobooks.

It would be like doing an audiobook version of "Saga" 🤔

I watched the first episode which is an homage to Kurosawa. It was well done.
The whole series looks to be a very Japanese take on Star Wars. Which should be fun.

If I do those "which American accent are you" quizzes online, I usually get New York (Long Island).
When I speak, you don't hear that R sound in the words I listed above (Like my surname Board (pronounced the same as Bawd) or Four (to rhyme with paw.)
If you heard me say the book title NOS4A2, it would sound to you like:
Noz-Faw-Ay-Too
NOS4R2:
Noz-Faw-Ah-Too

In Oz, Baud, Bawd, Bored and Board are all homophones, but in the US, Baud and Bawd are homophones and Bored and Board are separate homophones. One of these words is my surname. When I mentioned that on another forum, some smart alec told me that I was pronouncing my name wrong. 😕

NOS4A2 to me reads as “knows-four-ah-too”, with the S on “knows” being more sibilant, like the S in noose or goose. NOS4R2 looks to me like it would be “knows-fourer-too"
For me NOS4A2 reads as Noz-For-Ay-Too
NOS4R2 is more correct to my ears. Noz-For-Ah-Too
I would pronounce Nosferatu as Noz-Fur-Ah-Too

& A Dream of Spring book 7 (final book of A Song of Ice & Fire). At least that's the plan."
10 years 2 months since ADWD and counting. I don't hold out hopes of ever seeing Book 7.
If it stretches to 8, and he keeps up his glacial pace, then I don't think GRRM has that long left in him

Trike wrote: "BTW, this was adapted into a series by AMC, but canceled after the second season, so I don’t know if it’s complete. Starring Zachary Quinto (Heroes, nuSpock) as the vampire. In the US it’s on Hulu."
It's on Amazon Prime in Oz.

Cinemas and just about everything else is shutdown there for the foreseeable future.
They could still show it in covid free Tassie though. We are fully open for business.

Getting to choose the font and font size gets more important as I get older. I own books that I can't read any more, or at least not without a severe strain on my eyes.

I've never heard indigenous described purely as innocent pastoral people. They were when they wanted to be.
Most indigenous lived a more balanced life with their environment, but they also fought with each other over land use, petty disputes and "just because we don't like you".
The difference with the Europeans was that they brought superior weaponry (and exotic diseases) and killed indigenous on a near genocidal scale. Then proceeded to steal their land, steal their children and enslave the adults. Then deny them rights when society became more enlightened.

It should be uncopyrighted and free to use. Many government buildings fly both the Official Oz flag and the Aboriginal flag. A few states, where appropriate, also fly the other, less well known internationally, Australian Indigenous flag of the Torres Strait Islanders.
