4170 Lauren Beukes' playlist for The Shining Girls.

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4ka...

I don't know why the playlist title now says "The Sad Passions" instead of "The Shining Girls", which is what it used to say. The playlist was discussed online back in 2013:

4170 A book for next month hasn't been chosen. A discussion is under way on discord and here. I suggested Beukes' latest book Bridge during the podcast.

I only recognized a few titles. One of them was Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo, the follow-up to S&L pick Ninth House.

4170 Who had December 2 for Trike's 10001st post?
Nov 23, 2023 06:41AM

4170 It's been ten days since Trike posted his ten-thousandth comment. Will he ever comment again? Has anyone started a pool to pick the day and category of Trike post #10001?

4170 A Study in Cyborgs looks interesting. I've read a lot of Holmesian science fiction and horror over the years, but mostly in short stories. I even tracked down copies of "The Holmesian Federation", a Star Trek fanzine with Holmes/Trek fan fiction. They all have a vibe that I enjoy. Older's contribution fits right in to this canon and I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

I ran across this article on Holmes and science fiction. The author discusses some of the recent Holmesian science fiction like Sherlock Holmes in Orbit.
