For those of you experimenting with new facial hair styles in these pandemic times, here are CDC guidelines for which varieties of facial hair work with masks...https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/pdfs/...
Update: Good news! The ZAPPA is mask-friendly.
Watched and enjoyed The Old Guard on Netflix. Ordered The Old Guard, Book Two: Force Multiplied from my local comic shop, due out in September.
Sound can also be transmitted through bone conduction so you're not limited to two ears. You can listen to three or more audiobooks at once!

You can try the Heroine Complex series by Sarah Kuhnhttps://www.goodreads.com/series/1834...
An amusing ongoing series about a personal assistant to a superhero who is hiding her own superpowers, until she can't hide them any longer.
Hamilton Act 1 but it's Muppets (audio only)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZzDP...
Looks like a Muppet fan's production
Trike's nanobots haven't arrived yet so I can still post a quick burn about a murderbot. The Murderbot Diaries short story Home: Habitat, Range, Niche, Territory by Martha Wells which was offered to people who preordered Network Effect, will be available through Short Story Club https://www.shortstory.club/
It's a book club for short stories. You RSVP, read a short story, and join a live discussion with the author on Zoom.
Live Q&A with Martha Wells On Murderbot July 21 at 5:30PM PST / 8:30PM EST
If you press the RSVP button on the website, it will take you to an eventbrite page where you can either get a free ticket or make a donation to a charity.
UPDATE: There seems to be a limit on the number of tickets that will be available so, sign up early, if this interests you.
UPDATE 2: I signed up and the link to download the short story is for Hugh Howey's Wool instead of Ms. Wells' short story! I contacted the organizers asking for help. Trike must have misaddressed his nanobots.
UPDATE 3: The short story club folks sent out the correct download link right away. The postman has come and gone today, still no nanobots, but the murderbot is squared away.

"Diet Preacher with a twist of Buffy"-- Brian Brushwood and Tom Merritt, Cordkillers (It's Spoilerin' Time 319, to be released this week)
The original comics feature Sister Shannon. Some of the comic characters are in the tv show, but with major differences. Ava is a new character.
Kev wrote: "I saw it's rated TV-MA for gore. How much gore is there? I don't like gore."Fights with guns, knives, swords and slabs of spare ribs, with associated blood. Not as much gore as Game of Thrones.

Tassie Dave wrote: "A question, I haven't seen the Disney Hamilton. I had assumed it was just a recording of the musical pieces. Is it that or Is it a full dramatic recording of an actual performance of the show?"The actual performance, filmed on two nights, with multiple cameras.

A labyrinthine natural history museum with huge abandoned sectio..."I read The Relic and Reliquary after watching the movie based on The Relic. The creature was the best actor in the film.

Well, since the 4th of July holiday was a stay at home kind of affair this year, it was hot dogs and movies here. The mood called for watching some feel good summer movies so it was Will Smith kicking E.T.'s ass in Independence Day followed by the Mercury 7 in space, The Right Stuff.
Then the artillery shelling began. It's hot and dry here, so we mostly watched for fire.
Whether or not you celebrate the 4th of July, what do or watch yesterday?
