More info: https://chicon.org/home/whats-happeni..."In 2021, S&L had 24 nominations for Best Fancast. Of the six podcasts that made the 2021 Hugo ballot, 28 nominations was enough to make the cut, and three of the podcasts were within 10 nominations of S&L. So, it would just take a few more people, and maybe a reminder to V and T to nominate themselves too. ;-)

Americans Reading Fewer Books Than in Pasthttps://news.gallup.com/poll/388541/a...
Reading appears to be in decline as a favorite way for Americans to spend their free time. In 2020, a few months into the COVID-19 pandemic, when many Americans were still reluctant to leave their homes, Gallup found 6% of U.S. adults naming reading as their favorite way to spend an evening, down from 12% in 2016. Since Gallup first asked the question in 1960, at least 10% of Americans had identified reading as their favorite evening activity in all but one survey.

It's nice to see Tom in the dominant position."
"catorce" is fourteen in Spanish

A vaporizer might help with lung issues.
One last Expanse story coming in March. The Sins of Our Fathers: The Novella is the ebook version, or you can read it in the complete collection of Expanse short fiction Memory's Legion.
A series doesn't have to be finished to be nominated for a Hugo. The Expanse was first nominated for Best Series in 2017. The Expanse was nominated again and won the 2020 Hugo for Best Series.
Welp, I'll start with this month's pick Light from Uncommon Stars, then Warped: An Engaging Guide to the Never-Aired 8th Season by Mike McMahan who is now the showrunner for the animated Star Trek: Lower Decks, and in a couple of weeks, Quantum of Nightmares by Charles Stross will be released.
Trike wrote: "Weren’t there 11 Star Trek books to fill out your Laser goal?"I have a stack of about 30 Star Trek novels that I haven't read, but I keep running across shiny new novels like Quantum of Nightmares coming January 2022.

Still one more day in 2021, but I think I'm done for the year...I read 91 books, comics, and stories this year. Not as many as previous years. I only completed one of my Sword & Laser challenges:
Sword 23/30
Laser 19/30
Comics 30/24
Shorts 9/24
I had a couple of months this year when reading became difficult, but I finishing up the year with the final novels in several very enjoyable series: Leviathan Falls, King Bullet, Jade Legacy and Risen.
I hope we all have a better 2022.
A little late, but this month's pick The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina by Zoraida Córdova is on sale for $3.99https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08VJJTWRW
