Well I certainly didn't. But maybe T&V got more pull than I realized!
4170 This is timely, next month's pick (which starts tomorrow) The Calculating Stars is on sale on audible today: https://www.audible.com/pd/The-Calcul...

When I did this book I did the audio and it was fantastic. Normally I'm not a huge fan of authors reading their own books, and this is one of those exceptions.

Of course MRK does narration for other people's books as well so that may be part of the reason why.

Ah, yeah. That was going to be my next suggestion.

4170 I assume you double checked the shelves? My graphic novel challenge seems fine.

4170 Cool. I'll add all that to the FAQ next time I update it. Thanks!

4170 I liked the books. A lot of people struggle with the first one. I agree with Stephen that the books get better as they go on.

Quentin is a lot more tolerable on the show than the TV. I believe that's often the largest issue people have with the first book, but I don't know since I liked all three.

They also made other changes like moving Julia's story up from book 1 into season 2 that I think make a lot of sense.

Plus as Stephen said the show is well beyond the books at this point.

4170 Do you guys have a regular meeting day/time/place? Like for instance our group typically meets at 12pm on the last Saturday of the month at the same place.

I ask because I was looking at the FAQ and I noticed I called out the other regular meetups there (https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...) and I'd like to add yours. I can include the link to your facebook group too.

Thanks.

I tried, Rob. I really did my best, and was full of regrets and coffee at work the next morning."

4170 Here's the latest books I've finished. One with my eyeballs and one in audio.

The Fall of Io - Another good entry in this world, although I still enjoyed the original Tao trilogy better. It started a bit slow, but then it got really good and finished strong. - ★★★★☆ - (My Review)

Bloody Rose - I ended up not liking this as much as I expected. Many people seemed to enjoy this more than the first book, but for me it was the opposite. I found it a bit slow at times, but overall still enjoyable. - ★★★☆☆ - (My Review)
4170 You should have just stayed up reading instead. :-P
4170 Interesting. I've never heard of that.

Right now, I'm meetinged out after PAX South last weekend and our MD/DC/VA meetup today. Have fun!

Haha. The only reason I've been to the SF one is my sister lives there and the last time I visited, I made it a point to go when they'd be meeting.

Anyways, I've derailed this thread long enough. So, back to your regularly scheduled programming: Tacoma meetups!
