Nailbiter!"

Heh. I just mostly want to finish right about when Leviathan Falls comes out, and it's still kind of hard to predict at this point.

4170 For my own personal challenges, I'm finished with:

Personal: 23/25 (92% complete)
Sword: 9/5 (180% complete)
Laser: 11/5 (220% complete)

I finished reading 3 sci-fi books this month.

Still re-reading Expanse and nothing else. I'm almost done with book 5, which leaves 3 more to go. It's going to be close.

4170 Got any other spooky reads besides this month's pick on tap for October? If not, what are you reading instead?

4170 The month has been. Go forth and discuss!

4170 As far as I know you can still add external urls to posts, you just cannot "mask" them with an a href tag anymore. So you have to post them exactly.

I tried to edit old posts where I had href tags and it wouldnt let me, but once I got rid of them it was fine.

They've also been messing with stuff to combat spam/malware. They turned off email notifications for awhile and even with them back on again, you no longer get a preview of the post anymore.

It could be there was a period of time where they had urls off completely and then settled on this middle ground.

4170 This is the ultimate "safe" mood. Bringing back a past showrunner from the time when it revived in popularity.

4170 Yeah, that's a good point. It's been so long since he was in charge I just look back on his episodes fondly. But I do being excited for a change when he left.

I felt like Moffot was out of steam at the end of Mat Smith's run, and there hasn't been great writing since then.

I'm kind of hoping after 11 years away he's got some new ideas.

Mostly I'm just looking for someone to do something interesting with the show again. Maybe after 60 years of being a thing, it's just too hard?

However Doctor Who has the advantage of all of time and space. That's a lot of creative freedom.

4170 In an effort to get this thread back on track:

Russel T Davies is returning as showrunner for Doctor Who: https://nerdist.com/article/russell-t...

Please go discuss that in the Doctor Who Thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

4170 So Jodie Whittaker is leaving and Chibnall is going with her.

In his place Russel T Davies is returning!

I kind of wish Jodie would stick around for Davies. I feel like much like Capaldi, she was a great Doctor with not great writing.

It's complete. Season 1 was the first half of the book, season 2 was the second half.

They set it up so they could do a season 3 probably, but that would have gone beyond the source material.

4170 I did this in audio and Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway!) is great.

I'm not a big horror fan, but I'm a big Stephen King fan. I haven't read much of his "horror" but tend to stick to his more dark fantasy or psychological thriller books.

I feel like this book falls into a similar category. I'm sure Joe Hill would prefer to avoid being compared to his father, but to me it seems like he writes in a similar manner (albeit a pretty small sample size on my part)

4170 Our book pick for next month is: NOS4A2 by Joe Hill.

Let us know what you think about the pick.

Yeah, I basically haven't read anything else since July.
