TCPL Reading Challenge Team

Hi Heather,
Thanks for your review of a library-themed mystery! Have you read the others in the series?
Joyce

There are still two more weeks to enter the February mini-challenge. Win a $25.00 Gift Certificate from Bool's Flower Shop or a large heart-box of assorted chocolates from Life's So Sweet Chocolates.
Find more books, reading logs & Trivia questions displayed on TCPL's Reading Challenge table.

Read any good books lately? Tell us about them here or post to the group’s bookshelf.
I finished “The Immortalists” by Chloe Benjamin on audio. It was a great performance by the reader and an interesting story of four siblings, their mother and the power of superstition and family.

Win a gift certificate from local Ithaca Library Lovers, Bool's Flower Shop or Life's So Sweet Chocolates.
Tell us about books related to the following topics. They can be fiction or non-fiction (e.g. biography/memoir, history, poetry, short stories, graphic novel, etc.). Just be sure to say how the book meets the challenge. Submit through February 28th. Winners announced the first week of March.
1. February is Black History Month - read and review a book about African or African American culture or heritage.
2. February is Library Lovers’ Month - read and review a book set in or involving a library.
Eligible reviews will be randomly drawn from both the Evanced Reading Site, http://ny.evanced.info/tcpl/sr/homepa..., and the TCPL 2018 Reading Challenge Goodreads Group https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/....
Happy Reading,
The 2018 TCPL Reading Challenge Team

On the right hand side of the book row, you can click "Edit" to say "Why this book?" - eg. mini-challenge #2 - book is set in Freeville, NY.

Reviews let us know how the books you put on the shelf meet the challenge. Here is the group bookshelf. https://www.goodreads.com/group/books... . Click on a star to rate the books.
On the right hand side of the "book row" click the "Edit" option to say "why this book". Then, it will show up on the bookshelf under the title when you click "about." See the book "Being Human" for an example.

You can post to either or both places. We're trying to use both sites for this Reading Challenge program to see what works the first time around.
Some people prefer to keep their reviews private and/or they're not drawn to the social media aspect of Goodreads so they are more likely to use Evanced. Anyway, this is an experiment to see what works.
For the first challenge (registration/signups and reviews), we allowed for 20 prizes covering the first 10 per site.
All the other challenges will draw from reviews on both sites as one "pot" for the random pick of a "winner" out of those who meet the challenge criteria.
I hope this answer helps to clarify things better. If not, let us know and we'll take another stab at it.
Best wishes,
2018 TCPL Reading Challenge Team

Wonderful Wendy! Your review is showing up in this discussion thread. If you want to link it to the book and rate the book, you can go to the “Read” shelf for this group and add it there too.

You're welcome!

They really are! Thank you for the recommendation. I would never have picked it up on my own but am glad I did.

Hi Kim,
I'm reading it now and thoroughly enjoying it!
