We must support our libraries. Such a wealth of information and imagination, and all free or nominially priced . I joined my neighbouring county's libraries recently. Their staff were so welcoming, as is their library. Good to see it well-used on each occasion I've visited.I'm enjoying visiting libraries as often as I can.
Between life's little inconveniences such as employment, hammers and nails I am currently working on two new books planned for release in 2012. One is my first full-length novel and the other is a fresh collection of stories that have escaped from my disturbed mind. If you see any publishers with barge poles, give them a nudge.
Thank you to Kate Rosengarten who let me guest on her Blog. Kate is a professional proofreader amongst other learned things.http://www.kateproof.co.uk/blog/20071...
Great review of "Jumble Tales" out today in "The Short Review." The best yet.http://www.theshortreview.com/reviews...
Sorry not to have had much news lately. There will be more news later in the year.
In the meantime, Taj Mahal Review have kindly published a new story called "Have a Nice Day" in their summer 2011 edition.
Taj Mahal review is a twice yearly literary journal published in India but available worldwide.
I can't understand why some books are chosen to be sold. Last week, I was working with a student on a science project and we needed some facts about the law relating to drugs. The helpful librarian dug out the book we need from the sale section! There was also a Whittaker's Almanac from 2 years ago in there for sale for about 50p. I think they are about £40 new! Needless to say I've picked up a few "unwanted" bargains there recently....
I shall do that! I don't want them to be sold off at the endo of the year for 25p, like the table of unborrowed paperbacks I saw in a library today.
Jumble Tales will shortly be reviewed by "The Short Review". Yesterday I completed an interview with them about the book. This is a link to the review they wrote of Probability in 2009:

I think that Robert has cornered a market writing about his experiences in casino security. I don't think anyone else has done that. Reading his books, his experiences with the punters can be quite bizarre! I don't envy his job.But I think his military stuff is best. Perhaps it is word of mouth selling the Kindle download?
Hiya Nicolle. Well so far Shropshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire have them as of today. It would be great if others would follow. I called in one libary on my way home tonight and there it was on a shelf. I hope somebody borrows it!
Yes, I've noticed how well "Frigate: November" and the Vegas books do as Kindle books. How are you promoting them as Kindle books?
Thank you to Mandy de Jeger for her great review of Jumble Tales today on Mandythebookworm's book review blog.http://mandythebookworm.wordpress.com...
Available as Kindle downloads as of today on Amazon.co.ukand Amazon.com
Incidentally I bought a fine leather bound edition of "The Ingoldsby Legends" yesterday. I'm looking forward to enjoying that.
I understand that "In All Probability" and "Jumble Tales" will be available in some UK libraries from next Monday.
Same here in many ways. There is something so very tactile about a real book. You can literally feel and weigh the volume of knowledge inside. I was always bought up to "respect" books and to treat them as valuables. Indeed they are.Like them or not Kinldes have arrived. I remember the first computers to arrive in classrooms and the negative reception many of us gave them.
A great review of "In All Probability" on a site with a very worthy cause (fighting illiteracy in children) is today online at:http://readforyourfuture.blogspot.com...
Thank you again to Mechelle and Lora for all their help.
"Probability" and "Jumble Tales" will soon be available as Kindle downloads via Amazon. On Friday I had to order some bookcases to be custom made for the barn where I live, to tidy up books beginning to fill every gap. Just think of the room we could have if every book was digital. And the bonfire?
So this is the obviously the way forward.
I was very impressed with a Kindle device demonstrated to me the other day.
Give me a Moroccan calf leather stitched volume with gilt tooling any day!
Any views?
The video trailer made for "In All Probability" by Ami (Eloquent Enraptures) has finally been included in the You Gotta Read blog page for new book videos.http://yougottareadvideos.blogspot.com/

Please vote for it towards the end of the month when voting opens.
