I am not always hard and fast with my tasks. I could be convinced a space-ship wreck could work. There are elements that can easily carry over. As much as I think of water-borne vessels and the Earthly elements that destroy them, others may see the adventure in a space-borne vessel. Not keen on Area 51 conspiracy type books here, but give me a good space crash with survivors hoping for rescue (or starting over) and I could see that working.
