I have never used the inter library loan but I am a member of two different council libraries and I know that if I really needed to I could join any council library in Melbourne and hop on a train or tram to borrow from them. Living in a big city makes it so much easier to get library books and in Australia the libraries source their books from local, American and British suppliers so we get a good range. I save a fortune from using the library and I don't have to feel guilty about not paying the author as I believe Australian libraries pay royalties when you borrow a book.
I voted for them too so that I can reduce the number of square pegs I end up with. I have never finished a season without having some books that I just can't fit in.

I have a plan with different awards using almost all from my TBR shelf, then a follow up of the Miles Franklin award with the only one I have previously read being The Great Fire. I'm not really expecting to get through both plans so one already read doesn't matter (and Shirley Hazzard is an author I wouldn't mind rereading).
