Yeah, Books on the Nightstand is fun - I'm super excited since the hosts do events called "booktopias" and I'm going for the second time in a few weeks! Interesting new place, cool independent bookstore, and around 100 people hanging out with authors and discussing books.

I'm impressed at how small some people on here manage to keep their "to read" lists. Mine is well over 3,000 and just keeps growing...

Yeah, there is - should've pointed you there. And I found out about THEM through Books on the Nightstand, which also has a Goodreads Group...

I wish I knew of any book group here - the ones I've noticed through the library all meet at times I can't, and I don't have enough reader friends to get a good group going. Ah well.

Sometimes I think I listen to more podcasts about books than I do reading books. Kind of like planning for the next season's challenge ;)

Do you listen to the Readers podcast? That's where I heard about that idea...

I suppose it's still a lot cheaper than buying the books, even used. I'd just have to radically change my behavior! But I agree, I don't mind paying fees to my library as long as they get it - I'm saving a lot of money by using it :)

I have the same unrealistic dream - working long hours and looking for a new job is hindering that. Glad I'm not the only crazy one! :-P
