9. Circe's character goes through quite a few developments in personality in these chapters, both positively and negatively. How do you think the time in Aiaia has changed her?
10. "But in solitary life, there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the Earth" (chapter 11) - when I read this quote, I felt sorrow and sympathy for Circe, for all her life, she has been dealt the bad hand. What did you feel? Do you think Circe felt any real connection with Daedelus or do you think she is attracted to anyone who treats her a little differently from her family?
11. Every chapter in this section explored her relationship with a different character - Daedelus, Madea, Pasiphae in Crete and we get a sneak peek at her relationship with Odysseus. Each experience affects her adversely, sometimes positively, most times negatively. Which character did you like/ dislike the most and why? How do you think that character changed Circe?
12. Circe's trust in mortals is shattered after her traumatic experience with a man. How do you think this will affect the rest of the story? Do you think she'll come to change her opinion?

Update: I hate to sound dense, but will the adjective be posted 10/28 and the theme 10/30 so the challenge starts 11/1 or will the adjective be posted 11/3 and the theme 11/5. ..."
Hi Pam, the theme would be announced first. So round 1 will have the theme announced on October 30th. The book you pick for the round has to fit the theme. You’d then have till Nov 4 to post the completion and nouns.
The adjective will be announced on Nov 4 after the deadline. You’d have to post your final noun by Nov 6.
I should probably edit the first message to say starting October 30th! Thanks for asking this question!

1. Our setting for this book is the world of Greek mythology. What is your background with Greek mythology? How do you think your knowledge and opinions of Greek mythology will influence your reading of this book?
I know of Greek mythology mostly from reading Percy Jackson haha. But the characterization of Greek Gods seems to along similar lines in both.
2. In the first few chapters, we are introduced to Circe's family. I found myself having many different feelings about the characters presented. Which relationship has caused you the most emotion? What is it about that relationship that causes those emotions?
In all honesty, I don't like any character in this book, including Circe. She seems to be eternally blessed with bad luck and cruelty. Among all her relationships, I think Glaucos' is the one that annoyed me the most. You'd think he'd be grateful, or maybe a little loyal, to Circe for making him a God, but guess not! There must be something in god DNA that makes them world class a-holes!
3. Why does Circe approach Prometheus? How do you think this will affect her later in the book?
Curiosity? A desperation to find someone that would not hate her? Did she offer him nectar because she's kind or because she was trying to get him to like her? I doubt it will affect her at all. No one takes her seriously. She doesn't exist in most people's lives. Even the brother she raised abandoned her.
4. How does Glaucos's position affect what he sees in Circe? If Glaucos was invited to a family reunion of Circe's, how do you think he would compare her to others in her family?
As a mortal, he seemed to be awed at first. But later, I think he was just using her in the hopes of getting "blessed". She was definitely foolish to not have seen through him, especially after that scene where he blamed her for his family's misfortunes and she went running to her grandma to help him out. He would definitely see her as the sheep in a pack of wolves!
