I read my first two books. I will basically need to read two books a day plus somewhere during those two weeks fit in another five at least. At least they were good books!
OKAY, and here I gooooooooo!!! I'm SO ready! Starting with my first book, if you can believe this:
lol Kill two birds with one stone!
I was planning to start my book tonight (after midnight) but I read the rules and we're going by UK time, so is it possible to get a countdown clock please?Update: I just found out that is 1:00 PM in PDT. Ugh...I thought I had from midnight on. :( Oh well, I'll have to read books for other things that I don't want to read for Wheels.

I'm confused (again!) about the minis. Can we do any of them at any time? I see some of our team members have claimed a few mini tasks but from how I'm used to doing it in the past there were specific dates we could play them. Also, I was adding a book and put in all the information, I think, but it didn't add to the Round 1 tab and I see Jenny and Angie have books there. I see that the tab is locked so will the book add there after round 1 opens? I just want to do things right!

Absolutely feel free as a bird!
I am here! When I watch my grandchildren every other week when my 15-year-old grandson is not there with the little ones, I have to get up at 4 o’clock in the morning to go watch them and my son-in-law doesn’t get home at night until about 7:15 so I don’t get home until about 8 o’clock. That’s why I have been MIA the last few days.
Team Route 66's thread isn't open yet but yours is, so I'm just stopping by to say hi and good luck to all of you! :)

I thought that you had to live in the state at the very least where you get your card. I'm going to try that too.

Reading how limited some of you are in your country makes me realize how super blessed I am in California, USA. Sometimes I grumble when I can’t find a book on Libby, Hoopla, my local Library, or Scribd. I also. I also pay for Audible and I have access to used bookstores as well as the little libraries, but I rarely use either one of those because I have so many books already. I have left books in the little libraries before, but what I usually do is take a load of books to the high school that I used to teach at before I retired. The librarian appreciates the donation! I had started taking some of my used books to a used bookstore for basically Credit. She would look up the value of the book and keep a list of the running amount I had available to me. So let’s say that I took in five books and they were worth $17 total that I could spend that $17 on books but I did not get cash back. But I had just started doing that prior to the pandemic and I have not gone back since.
Jenny, absolutely — wrestled him right behind the Publix for my debut. Named him Earl. We’re pen pals now.” 🐊✍️ AND I’m holding off on my second gayter-rassllin’ until Wheel-a-thon kicks off. Gotta leave the crowd wanting more and keep the drama high for October 11. 🐊🔥🎡
I was on vacay in Florida for a month and barely saw this today! Thank goodness I was still able to sign up. I'd be SO disappointed if I had to miss this one! I'm "competitive" too; however, I don't feel bad if my team on any challenge doesn't take 1st, mainly because it's rare we do. lol I know that some people read far less than others and some (like Richard) read so much they surpass your own annual total. That being said, we all have a love of reading and these challenges are for the FUN! IF you happen to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, great! If not, it's just a game/challenge and there's no loss!!! I'm 101% so excited for this one even though I am also playing TW's and the page counts kind of conflict. I still do my best to fit each challenge as well as possible. I just try to be the best participant I can be and have fun. Being with all of you makes me smile, laugh, roll my eyes at times, sympathize with you at times for RL heartaches, and so forth. Goodreads friends are now a part of my world, so I'm playing come hell or high water! lol

YIPPEE!!! That feels so good! I have to agree with everyone else that WE have the most awesome team!! We had no major complainers (that I know of), we all read what we were able and we truly wanted that W! Thanks to every single person, but especially to those awesome captains: Angie and Jenny! You are simply the BESTEST of the BEST!
Jenny wrote: "May I say, you guys rocked. You deserve a standing ovation and several encores!!!!!!!Thank you all for stepping up and finding books that fit countries that you may never have considered reading ..."
That last sentence made me kinda sad. Oh well, I know I get to but you and Angie on TW's so now I'm happy again! lol

101% agree and we've had some awesome teams!
Jenny wrote: "Oh no! I will be asleep when this ends! What if I miss the big finale?"You should've stayed awake and joined the party with Angie and me! lol I was up last night until 3-ish so Angie and I were talking online via PM's, and I felt like I had company so that was fun. At times I was watching the SS as she moved things around. lol I was entertained! Got to bed and woken up right after falling asleep at 3:35 with a dang foot cramp! So I got up and long story short was wide awake again. Turned on the TV to a reality show on Netflix and fell asleep until Scott (hubby) woke me up and asked me if I wanted some oatmeal. lol So I've been wide awake again, but it's OK. I'll get some reading done for us.
I can't even begin to say thank you enough to both of you, Angie and Jenny, for all of the hard work, time, patience, shelf-stalking, PMing us (at least me) with reminders or whatever. I honestly don't know how you two do it, but I'm so grateful to both of you.
To my teammates, thank you to all of you as well. We all did a fantastic job! I'm hoping we took first place because I need that prize money! lol I hope to (and sure I will) see you all in other challenges and definitely for the next round of Tower Teams! :)
