Cheese and ice cream. Cannot live without those."
I agree 100%

(I kept proclaiming - but there's a WHOLE AISLE)

I’m more of a beer, pretzels and beer cheese kinda girl- tbh, but I don’t discriminate :).
I’m looking forward to this theme. I always mean to read around the world, but then zip back to my comfort books. This will be a good push.

. Emily finds herself in a very cold, snowy location, and worries about surviving the cold.
What do you think of the setting?
It works for me - it's really cold here, and there is a lot of snow, so it's nice to read a book set in a similar climate.
Although I agree with the rest of the folks - why is she so unprepared? Is she used to having servants where she studies? It doesn't seem like she does, but she sure is acting like it.
have you ever found yourself in similar surroundings, and how did you cope, or how do you believe you will cope if you haven't?
Also splitting logs... Would you manage like a boss, or risk loss of limbs?
I would be okay splitting logs. Although I'd make sure there was a hospital nearby, just in case..
2. How do you feel about footnotes? *
Well, I'm listening to the book, so I guess I don't notice :)
3. In a world where the existence of faeries is an established fact, would you consider dryadology as a profession?
Nah, I'm too clueless. I'd end up in a fairy ring for sure.
Funny thing though - I just finished reading a book about a scientist who studies killer whales. There are some definite similarities between the two main characters! Come to think of it, Alexandra Morton went from Connecticut to British Columbia, and was pretty unprepared. She learned a lot about living in a cold climate by just being there and trying to survive.
4. What do you think of Emily so far? And Bambleby?
I like Emily. Her scientific side is nice to read about. Bambleby is okay - I kind of gloss over his part.

I'll check in once more tonight to see what our final scores were.
This has been such a fabulous team to play with! I hope to play in many more challenges with you all!!

Sounds good.
A question for you - you have A Body in the Back Garden with NFN: Daniel
What does NFN mean?

Thanks Kelly :)

I am still plowing through my 3 books, and should finish them by the end of the challenge.
How are you all doing with yours?

Yes! I can shuffle mine around. There are so many characters in that Day of Fallen Night.... Let me see if I can find a I or a V

Those books must have incredible world building. They are so long, and there are so many of them. What do you think of them?

Thanks for the recs. Melissa, that's so much info, I'm so grateful!
Ugh, U is a hard letter!"
You are welcome!
I am glad you will be doing more challenges! I really love them. They get me to read books I'd never pick up otherwise. And a lot of times those books are really interesting :) Although sometimes.... I wish I could erase them from my brain!

I'm seeing other teams continuing with theirs, so I think it's okay.

Aha!
Beware, it is addicting...
Here is the general thread for this group:

UNO is a great one - like Insiyah mentioned. That's on the group "Perks of being a Book Addict Group" https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
I like the group FLOAB (For Love of a Book) - our teammate Brittany is a moderator of that group! She has led some great challenges there: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
There's the Challenge Factory
Which has some really nice challenges - many individual, but also some group challenges
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
Those are a good place to start :)

LOL
I'm not sure if you meant to write "thorns" but that is totally like what is going on here! Lots of thorns....
