35559 I'm reading All Thirteen: The Incredible Cave Rescue of the Thai Boys' Soccer Team for the Thailand task - and I'm terrified. No thank you with caves. No thank you!

35559 Anyone starting with anything really good?
Oct 28, 2024 03:55PM

35559 I am reading The Mysterious Affair at Styles! I love it.
I'm trying to get The Spellshop - but I'm waiting for a copy.

35559 I am going to read A Day of Fallen Night which is book 0. Should I move the two series books down and put it before the 1? Or should I start a new series of books?

35559 I just found a book set in an office - I'm kind of excited about it. It's called The Best of Everything I'll let you know how it goes.

I know it! My dog would not have stood for that, I can tell you!

That's so great that I can start now. I didn't want to read anything I could use. But ..."

There is quite a range on words that get spun - from HOA Violations to Powerwashpatiofurniture.

Ours will be a little challenging because of the n's probably.

35559 I can squeeze in an n before the deadline
Oct 25, 2024 03:09PM

35559 Our word is annualperformancereview. Oh good grief - that's a long one. Be sure to put the other options in column R so we can reconfigure as we need to.

35559 We have opened Round 2 and the mini-challenge tab! Go ahead and start planning :)
I wonder if there is a way to connect the two? Like if you put A1 in the planning document that it will automatically pop over to the mini-challenge tab?
This is beyond my skill level :)

35559 Yes!
Go to the tracker spreadsheet and click on the tab for minichallenge. I put all of the challenges on the one page.

We're not quite open for people to put information on there, but by tomorrow afternoon (EST) we will! I'll get on it tonight if Insiyah is busy.

Sounds good.
Do you think 5 will be your average in 2 weeks? It's fine if it is - some folks thought a round was a month when signing up.

35559 Oooh I love nonfiction. That’s a good one in the admin challenge

Excellent!
I put that one on my TBR - looks good. I'm reading The Glassmaker which has a section set during the Black Death. I haven't read a lot of historical fiction of that time period - but it's very interesting.

35559 Okay, I was looking at my next week books- one is A Wrinkle in Time and Meg eats a cheese and tomato sandwich. Go Meg!

and there's a yam in Mad Honey

I don't know about these office ones....

35559 The timer I posted doubles for an end timer for this round. Don't forget to check your shelf! I highlighted the little boxes on the right-hand side of the spreadsheet if I didn't see the read book on a shelf.

Let me know if you fix it.

35559 Anyone up for some southern books with okra and yams? :)

Good idea with the Kindle! Then you can find the page number more easily too.

35559 Trisha wrote: "Can we take banked books for these mini challenges? or do they need to be completed AFTER the mini challenge is announced?"

No banked books :(
They need to be completed after this round is over - late on the 26th or later.

Here is a timer for when the mini challenges start (you can finish a book after the timer gets to 0)
