If you are into fantasy and audio, I would recommend Anne Bishop's The Others-series, starting with . I have the paperback as well, but liked the narrator at Audible so much that I have listened to them all as well=)

The ending was so good! Though I would have liked to continue on with Meg and Simon as main characters, they are adorable!

I haven't read the synopsis for Lake SIlence yet, but I'm guessing I will be reading that one too:P

Some thoughts on characters:

Sierra: Anybody else who wanted to shake some sense into this girl?! (view spoiler)[It is so frustrating that no matter what they say it doesn't get through to her. The only thing that redeems her a bit in my eyes is that she finally decides to put her girls before Jimmy, running away with them at night without telling anyone.
I can somewhat relate since I was doing something similar with one of my ex-boyfriends, but it didn't take long before my friends and family managed to talk some sense into me... (hide spoiler)]

Twyla: She is a bad-ass old lady! She manages to be sensible no matter if it hurts her, as long as it is in the best interest of her kids.

I think I have had a similar question in a different challenge before. If I remember correctly you can put the audio edition you read on your shelf and use that cover since it is only the page number we need from the default version. However, I would be glad if Judith doublechecks since I am not sure if that was a challenge in this reading group.

Eeeh, I see the similarities, but the coloring is quite different. I would not say yes without having a vote from the other captains.

It is the 31st of July everything ends and starts as far as I know=)

The start of this book reminds me of the situation after a war or large battle (which this technically was); everybody trying to adapt to their new reality, figuring out how to move forward.

Anybody else enjoying some of the descriptions in these books? Exploding fluffballs, bunnies with teeth, howling not-Wolf etc =)=)
