I know Muppets are actually puppets but for some reason in my head those are just in a different category. And don't have the same creep factor.

It was good, Hendrix is good at writing horror that isn't real but just maybe could be so it's creepy. Also I will never look at puppets the same way ever again. LOL

So far it’s been a interesting start to the book.

Glad you made it back stateside safely!

Books with Asian characters/authors are another good place to look for X

19. We finally learn how Lily died. Were you surprised? Do you think she would have done it without Leona's prompting?
Maybe a little bit but I didn't expect her death target to be Emery for some reason. And thought Emery was more of a witness to something. I guess because I thought she cared for Emery. But in hindsight I shouldn't of been surprised.
20. I've never read a book before that gave the perspective of the place. How do you feel about Saoirse Island having her own chapter?
I thought it was an interesting and effective way to tell what happened to Lily. I also think that POV was more interesting than Lily's would of been.
21. The counsel (and probably the islanders) are definitely not shown in a good light. Do you think they knew, or cared, about Leona's motivations? Why do you think Noah broke ranks?
I think denial is a very powerful force that should never be underestimated especially in situations where there's a personal gain involved.
I think Noah broke ranks because he pulled his head out of his butt. Taking the orchard after August left and had no intention of coming back for an inheritance he didn't know he had is one thing. Killing an innocent man so he doesn't out you for laws you knowingly broke is another thing altogether.
22. The August/Emery tension was finally resolved. Were you happy with the outcome? Did it feel realistic? Do you think that they would really survive as a couple off the island?
It was what I expected to happen. Her completing a 4 year program in 3.5 years and immediately starting a doctorate while popping out babies honestly seems less believable than a successful marriage.
23. The orchard ownership was resolved in an unusual way. Were you satisfied with the outcome?
Eh, nope. August deserves some compensation for all that tomfoolery and almost being unalived by a coo-coo old lady and her minions.
24. The ending. What are your thoughts on Emery and August's daughters comment? Ominous, intriguing, or just there?
It's a fun bit of woo-woo at the end.

Those that weren't assigned to Team Soul have all been scattered through out the existing teams. Please be on the look out for messages from captains!
The game starts tomorrow at 9pm London time!

I feel like I'm making it sound like I hate the book or something, which I don't. I'm liking it fine. LOL

Ch 36 to Ch 47
13) This section begins with Emery having another nightmare. She is seeing Lily drowning by her own hand but before she wakes it's herself in the water. What do you think this means? Is it just symbolizing the pain she feels or could it be something more?
I think it's something more. Maybe the island is trying to tell her something? I don't know
14) I thought the chapter from Albertine's POV was the most interesting. She clearly knows more than anyone about the magic that inhabits the island and the people that live there. I found it extremely interesting that Henry Salt was cursed and was dying. Who do you think cursed him and why? Why do you think Albertine saved him, even knowing the type of person he was?
Leoda probably cursed him? I'm wondering if she saved him because cursing someone with death is just not what the magic is for? I saw a GR review of this book that said 'this is a lot of drama over some apples'. And I'm inclined to agree.
15) August and Emery finally have a conversation about that night and we find out how the fire was started. Were you surprised with the part August played?
Nope, not surprised at all
16) We see another side of Dutch in this section. Once he realized Emery knew the truth about him he got drunk and went after August. He had some pretty nasty things to say about Emery and Lily. Does this change your perception of him? Why do you think he would stay with Emery all this time if that's how he really felt about her? After finding out he lied about his whereabouts that night not to protect August but to protect himself, do you think he could have something to do with Lily's killing?
It didn't change as much as confirm some things. Maybe? Hmm, Cat's thought about Lily sleeping with Jake is an interesting angle. Lily and Dutch are both people who seem to only want what other people have. Lily did make a serious play for August the night of the fire so I wouldn't say she was a real good friend to Emery or anyone in her circle really.
17) Emery gives August the deed to Salt Orchards and we find out that they forged August's signature to give the Orchard to the town, which most likely means that it was left to him. Do you think the entire town counsel played a part in that? Why do you think they would do that? Do you think it has anything to do with Lily's killing?
Yep, I do. They were all at least indirectly involved. I'm guessing the did that for the financial security of the town since the orchard is the main driver to it's economy.
18) This section was filled with so much information I had to pick and choose what to ask about LOL. Was there anything else about these chapters that stuck out to you? Anything you were surprised at?
It was refreshing for Emery and August to have a couple conversations like the adults they are and have clear communication between the two of them. Glad some of that nonsense was cleared up.
