Correct, we are still planning the battle and we have through the first week of Round 2 to get it all set. We've actually moved quicker than most teams.Though the D1 & D8 captains decided to slow the planning down a bit because D1 is trying to give others on their team more of chance to chime in. Their team has a much wider range of time zones than we do.
Books can be started for the actual battle on June 22nd and we have until the 29th to get them done. They do not have to read in order and can be read all at the same time.
In looking at finished books the BOM tabSofie you still need one more DQ set answered for Salt & Broom to earn points.
Lexi you still need one more DQ set answered for Starling House to earn points.
If you don't get to these before the end of Round 1, that's fine we can still add them during Round 2.
Reminder that Round 1 ends tomorrow, fairly early am for most of us.Captains only have until 1 hour past the end of Round 1 to get the spreadsheets finalized.
Can you all let us know when you've finished your last book for the Round? That will make it easier for the captains to make sure we don't miss last minute books.
I think only Krissy and I have books left to finish for the mini.

DQs Day 4 - "Love Has Come to Mean Death" - end15. I personally haven't read Jane Eyre and therefore can't compare the two books which makes me feel a bit regretting, but then again so many of y'all don't seem to like this as a retelling. Do you think you'd feel differently about the book depending on whether you've read Jane Eyre or not, and do you want to pick up Jane Eyre now if you haven't yet? What if you hadn't been aware of this being a retelling and the characters had different names?
I think it would of been better to not have the retelling link. Jane Eyre is just a far superior book that stands up to the test of time. This . . . is not that.
16. I was secretly hoping that Agnes had romantic feelings for Antoinette and that she was more involved in the last part of the book, but alas it was Dr. Poole. No big surprise there. Has your opinion of him changed in any way after he "confessed" and tried to help Jane and Edward? And if you could bring someone back from the dead, would you do it? Theoretically you wouldnt be aware of any consequences, but logically I think we've learned that there's always consequences...
I feel like all of that with Poole pretty much turned into a whole lot of nothing. Seemed like another wasted opportunity. No, I wouldn't bring anyone back from the dead. We aren't meant to live forever.
17. Jane came back for Edward and saved him of course, and now they're living happily ever after. How do you feel about them as a couple, and is there anything you would have changed about these last couple of chapters as the author or simply just a fan of the original work?
Ugh. The fact all of the story (except the epilogue of course) happens over like what 3 days? It's just silly.
18. Was this your first book written by Sharon Lynn Fisher, and do you think you'll be reading more by the author? Were your original expectations met? Anything else you want to add?
First book by her and won't be in a rush to pick up another one.
Bonus for everyone but especially those who have read Jane Eyre before: I challenge you to say at least one good thing about Salt & Broom - other than "it ended!!" lol :b
It has a great cover.

I don't think you need to be worried about us going Full Circle, but if it comes to it, we do promise A Clean Kill. We in District 8, strive to be well mannered (snickers) and tidy.
