Forward to Ch 10
1.) The book certainly begins in a unique way. Was the textbook like way it began effective to catch your interest in the story?
I liked how the book opened and I think it was an effective way to set up the story. It certainly grabbed my attention and I think was a good way to set the tone as well. Seemingly a scholarly account but with a thread of dark humor running through it all.
2.) Wow, what an intro to the school. I admire Cliff's roll with it attitude. How do you think you would of reacted in a similar situation?
That was certainly a different orientation than I've ever experienced. Hat's off to Cliff for keeping it together. I think I would of been stunned into wary silence like some sort of zombie.
3.) That was quite the escape attempt. Cliff is definitely a quick thinker, but maybe a bit too quick. Should he had waited a bit before trying to pull a runner?
I mean I get wanting to skedaddle as soon as possible since I'm sure the whole thing seemed bonkers to Cliff. But waiting a bit would of made more sense. In hindsight I don't think it would of made any difference in the outcome.
4.) We certainly have and interesting cast of characters. The background on Gemma and Doria was helpful. Any favorites so far?
I'm curious about Doria after her snippet of a backstory. Gemma seems to have a fair bit in common with Cliff. Trebune seems fun, I hope be becomes Cliff's bff. He seems like the type of chap Cliff needs in his life right now.
5.) The discussion around "I could never murder anyone. Except maybe . . ." was an interesting one. What are your thoughts on this statement and how true do you think it is?
I think this is 100% true. For most people I believe it's "no of course not" until you are presented with a set of circumstances that changes the answer. Everyone has a breaking point, most of us are just lucky enough to find out where exactly it is.

But if someone needs more time, just give a shout and I don't think anyone will mind pushing back a day as needed.
I'll leave section 4 open in case someone else pops in, if not I'll do sets 1 and 4.

1. As the person who nominated the book, do my questions have to be tied to a specific day or are they spread out?
2. Do I have to pos..."
You will be assigned a specific day. Typically nominators get day 1 of the discussion, in this case Jan 16th. That would be the day you post your questions.
A few days before the BOM starts (so maybe the 13th-ish? give or take a day) one of the mods will post the breakdown and distribute the days to people who volunteered to write DQs.
then everyone has their days and will know what pages/chapters each day covers.
Hope that helps and if you have any additional questions about the process, please ask!

For this task would the heroine being embedded in a large tag i.e strong-heroine be acceptable?"
yes, that's fine!

Trinia,
Can you add a read date to your last book? GR isn't showing a date
Thank you!

Please let us know when you've read your last book for Round 4 and Wheel-a-thon 2024
I hope you all enjoyed taking some spins around the Boring Wheel of Life :)

We've gotten the Feed Your Family mini challenge flipped again.
So any books finished from here on out can go on that mini challenge. With a whole fresh set of food words, hopefully most of these last couple days of books can find a home :)
